Lack of Recognition for Legendary Crafters
so ppl now want to be openly recognized for having the luck to have a precursor drop for them?
No, they don’t. They want a title they can display so that people will stop thinking of them as wallet warriors that bought a Legendary with daddy’s credit card. It’s not about bragging rights, it’s about some way to say “no, I didn’t use a credit card. I actually worked hard to get this, so kitten”.
It’s also about the profound lack of titles available in GW2.

You do realize that you can buy ALL the ingredients for a legendary weapon out of the TP?
So what? Nobody said it was a perfect solution, but since you bring it up anyway… It is highly likely that the price of Legendaries would drop since the people that want the title would be buying mat’s instead of the ready-made weapon.

Gift OF Mastery
Although its not exactly hard, it’s still something that can’t be bought. Getting gift of Exploration is a kitten if you’re going for more than 2 legendaries(for me its kinda boring after the first exploration).
come on, the only realistic ways to get a precursor now are to either pray for a straight drop or grind gold to buy one or buy rares n flushing them. how is all this glorious n deserving of a title other than perhaps “Lottery Winner”?
Those of us who put in the work are not well recognized. We have nothing to show we built them and not just bought off the TP. I was expecting some achievement when I crafted my dreamer in the forge. Nothing.
I kept this post short because their is nothing else I need to add.
I think someone who bought a legendary weapon from the TP deserves more recognition than you, because he is obviously putting way more effort into his job and real life, by making a lot of money.
Kinda Makes sense, give them ‘’Winning IRL’’

No actually, you can’t. Not even by a long shot. You need 2 crating professions to 400, Gift of (dungeon), Obsidian Shards, Mystic Clovers, Bloodstone Shards… Everything in mastery… There’s a good deal of time investment there. I still think it’s crap you can buy a legendary. Ergo, you can indeed buy ALL the stuff, by just buying the weapon.
However, an achievement is already there, i don’t see why people would need a title…

In fact, i doubt there’s even one legendary in the game that has been crafted purely through drops, without buying anything off TP.
Remember, remember, 15th of November
Solution! Equipping a legendary without the crafting achievement gives you either “Deep pockets” or “Money Bags”
And to you a special forum title “Me jelly fish”.
Cute. I like it but I don’t get it.

Let’s go 48+ FotM or WvW to see how legendary you are. Oh wait…..yea………
I don’t much care either way about there being an achievement for forging a legendary. I do think it would be appropriate if there was some kind of special animation at the forge when it happened. You know, like the ground shakes, the toilet waters pulse and a beam of light shoots up to the sky… or something. Maybe give the person forging it a “vista style” camera pan as it happens to make them feel like something “legendary” is happening and give a sense of “oooooo someone just made a shiny” for the other players in the vicinity.
What’s the difference between buying twilight or buying the components to build twilight? I doubt anyone actually farmed everything.
I can Kinda see where op is coming from. Three of my Legendaries I got from playing the tp, other one I took the time to craft.
Crafting was a lot harder and longer. TP I just logged in check my orders, check some other things and that’s it.
With everything said and done I don’t really care. I have the Legendaries and that’s more then enough for me.
Heavens Rage
Sometimes I wish I were in one of those traditional grindfest mmos, being an average scrub getting lorded over by those few with their glowing armors and weapons that they got from being the 1% of the population that could beat x dungeon/y dragon. I’d actually be jelly, but still would have some respect for those hardcore players. That would beat having to hear people with overblown sense of entitlement claiming they should be special for crafting some toy-looking skins, and that their peers are actually jelly over said skins of theirs.
The reward from crafting a legendary is one of two things: the gold you get from selling it or the prestige of wearing it. Want neither? well seems you have wasted your time.
My moves are fresh, like my groceries.

^this.
Legendaries doesn’t feel legendary at all to me. It’s basically just a ton of farming to get 1. Make weapons with real prestige involved. Challenging content that only 0.5-1% of the population will actually have the skill to beat. If I saw someone with a weapon like that, then I would be impressed.

Or people can stop caring what anonymous players in an online game think of them. That seems like a fairly reasonable solution to being called a “wallet warrior” to me.

I have three legendaries and a lot of gold but I really don’t care about what people think of me. Like me, all right! Hate me, whatever, you’re free to think that way!
As long as I’m happy with my look, then that’s fine.

Absolutely agree with this. I don’t care what others think and I certainly don’t want any recognition. It’s more than enough for me that I have the weapon I wanted!
I think having a town clothes t-shirt with a snowflake on it would be nice. I’d proudly wear it.
