Lack of Social aspect
Don’t have that problem on Desolation. Guest on some servers until you find one you like to transfer to?
I can’t disagree more. I almost always manage to find some people, either by accident or a quick shout in the map chat.
Heck, even walking through LA results in some interaction with other people often enough. Add Guilds in the mix and I think communication is pretty strong in GW2.
EDIT: I’m also from Desolation if that matters.
I think the main lack in guild wars2 with community is that you really dont have to talk thus not forming friends. Its like the same thing with wow once LFG was added , a lot of the times you made friends in dungeons as they where hard and you had to work together and of course it was on your server so your friends list grows.
GW2 seems to lack that aspect, while difficulty is around in dungeons due to the fact that most if not all form groups via GW2 LFG the people we meet we most likely wont see again.
I’ve both recruited people to the guild, and made “friends” with people via dungeons and map-chat. When i do dungeons, i either find people in the mapchat of the dungeon, or i go with guildies/friends i’ve made from former runs.
And i’ve never walked for an hour without seeing anyone, no matter the zone.
Might be your server.
But starting the thread like you are doing here, it only promotes flame-wars.

Yea i miss that alot, in my older MMORPG’s it was fun to talk abit in chat etc.
Nowadays everyone is on TS ( I always have music on, and dont want to hear dull voices all the time while i game lol )
And when i do talk in Map chat, talking to someone who likes to chat i get insulted or people tell me " Stop spamming "
Miss it!
