WvW. Okay, the scenario is this: I’m fighting through a zerg of, say, 40 players. This becomes totally unplayable, even with graphics turned right down. Its not a graphics issue. It’s the game. I’m not the only one with severe lag during big zergs. It looks like an optimization issue and the same happens during some of the dragon events – namely Jormag. Even if our system is well beyond recommended specs, this is just not good enough and it needs to be addressed. I’m reluctant to attempt any of the dragon events let alone Jormag.

The game has been horribly optimized since launch and Anet simply doesn’t do anything about it. With any other company fixing performance as poor as this would be a number 1 priority, but Anet doesn’t seem to understand that.

I’ve got a PC that plays Crysis 3 on high at 30FPS, but loading times in GW2 are abysmally long and performance grinds to a halt the moment I so much as think of going to Lion’s Arch or taking part in the shadow behemoth event. It’s quite clearly a game issue, yet Arenanet isn’t doing crap about it.

NCsoft wants ANET to roll the cash in first before they will be allowed to actually start giving their clients some love.

I prefer a little lag if I wouldn’t crash 9 out of 10 times a big zerg appears. So many months this game is out and they still haven’t fixed crash issues for 32 bits nvidea

For me the lag in WvW is kinda strange, one day I have crazy lag on only 20 v 20 or so, 3 days later I don’t even have lag on 50v50v50..

I am not sure, but they are probally testing stuff

I also would like to hear an official post about this, and not we are working on it because its been like this for months..

I think it’s because they run their servers on hardware powered by potato.

Lag is both affected by client-side and server-side issues. The server has to try and accommodate the highest average latency from clients, imo.

I started getting lag in eb after some update in Feb. I started crashing every time I saw a 30+ zerg after the last patch. I am undecided as to whether crashing is actually an improvement ……

I am wondering if maybe the servers are just too full? Maybe Arenanet over-estimated the player load that each server can accommodate? It seems to me from what I have experienced and seen in Lion’s Arch, Southsun, and WvW that there are just too many players for the servers to adequately keep up with. Last time I logged in and checked the server population status, they were all Very High or Full.

Maybe Arenanet needs to reduce the maximum players per server and open up some new ones to accommodate the numbers. They don’t seem to be able to adequately tweak the game engine to currently work well with the current numbers.

Thanks.

It’s as I have always said,
“You can get more results with a kind word and a big stick,
than you can with merely a kind word.”

This. I have sent so many crash reports since launch. What have they done about it? Nothing.

This game has the worst optimization I’ve ever seen since the Black Ops PC port. My PC is perfectly capable of running any game with average-high settings with decent fps. Yet on GW2, low gfx I will have consistently low fps, and after a certain amount of WP uses/zones (especially in and out of major cities) I will crash.

I haven’t bothered sending reports as of the last couple of weeks. It’s hopeless, and it is clear they do not even check the reports. Why is there an option to leave your e-mail adress behind? So they can respond? HA. Good one.

Still waiting for the things I love about GW1.

There is some dev response on the issue somewhere, they know. Haven’t seen anything new about it. But switching to 64 bits windows for 1 game I think is over the top. In any case it should never crash, just lag or load less environment.
