Guild Wars 2

Over the past three years I have always been a patient and loyal customer of this game and Anet in general. Even though a lot of us would have a lot of different topics to complain about, I did not and generally accepted the changes the developers chose to pursue, these being good or bad. But since the release of GW2 HoT the performance of this game has dropped significantly, which is reflected by decreasing active players and a general loss of profitability of this game. Since this is my first forum post over the 6 years of GW1 and GW2 I feel sorry for it being on such a negative topic but I also think that the issue of lags and disconnects has to be further highlighted by the community.
Over the last 2 months I am experiencing a significant increase in lags and lag related disconnects. There appears to be no pattern in which these lagges are appearing but after communcating with my guild and friends it seems that sudden lag spikes of pings above 2000 up to 5000 ms are a general problem. I have of course monitored my pc and internet connection to exclude hardware errors but since the only online game I am having problems with is Guild Wars 2, the disconnects are likely a consequence of the GW2 servers.
As far as I am concerned, I generally don’t have a problem with ingame flaws (e.g. balance issues, content poverty or general bugs) but the fact that I am not able to play the game, that I used to enjoy and payed for anymore is unacceptable. I keep getting disconnected out of PvP matches making a divison climb almost impossible and the whole PvP part of the game a nightmare. In PvE I loose progress of the story, achievement runs or meta events at least once per gaming session (I play about 4 hours per week split over the weekend days) and sometimes I am not even able to log on the game.
I sincerely hope that the issue of connection problems is being looked at and I would be grateful for any sort of advices on how to deal with these GW2 induced lags and disconnects.

P.S.: Before the flaming begins I would like to point put that while playing GW2 to circumvent lags I am neither dowloading anything nor am I using any other programs.

Are you using the 64 bit or still using 32? 64 has been a great cure for many people.

You should really have posted in tech support but this will probably get moved there. So this issue could be so many things. Check out this link. You should run a test on your packet loss to rule out some hardware and ISP issues. Click on the connectivity link on the following page to learn how to do that.

Edit: just going to add that gw2 servers are located in Seattle. If you want to compare Gw2 connectivity that is fine but whatever online game you compare this to, their servers also have to be located in Seattle. I highly doubt that is the case but who knows.
