Lamest Ending in Gaming History in my view
The beginning of wisdom is to call things by their proper name.
Yeah I thought this was going to be about Arah story mode…but as others have said, the dungeon was the ending (in particular, the events to the end and immediately after the dungeon, not just the fact that you attack the facility)-everything after is the epilogue of that ‘chapter’, if you will (Southsun obviously shows the story isn’t over yet). If you know you aren’t strong in writing/literary techniques then please take the time to learn about it/improve your skills rather than proudly displaying your ignorance and arrogance in attempted to contradict others who are obviously your betters in that particular aspect (not directed at OP)……reading the dev notes also helps in this case -__-
Btw:
“The Flame and Frost epilogue will be active from Sunday, May 12 at 12:00pm Pacific until Thursday May 16 at 12:00am Pacific the release of the Secret of Southsun on Tuesday May 14. The epilogue will mostly consist of conversations and story elements; there are no exclusive rewards to be given at this time.”“A Rallying Flame Achievement
This achievement can only be earned during the epilogue, which starts on Sunday, May 12 at 12:00pm Pacific and remains active until Thursday, May 16 at 12:00am Pacific. You can earn this achievement by interacting with a bonfire in either Lion’s Arch, Hoelbrak, or the Black Citadel."

Really not sure how much clearer one can be that the bonfire isn’t the ‘ending’…
What you consider to be the ending is your business, but it is also irrelevant-the creators have declared this to be the epilogue, so any worthwhile critique will have to be of the event as an epilogue, not an ending. Or could it be some of you are so full of yourselves you are unable to view anything objectively, if so then your opinions will always be biased, based in ignorance and carry very little worth, contrary to your deepest wishes/delusions.Also, why can’t people seem to stick to topics, has literacy really dropped this far? The topic is about the perception of the ending of F&F-not your opinion on the entire story, not the last time you liked temporary content, not whether your are a fan of temp content, not your wish for PTR, not how you think the event was handled, not drop rates, not your alts, not your profession, not exotics (-__- idk where the hell this one even came from)…smh
Wow, “biased”, “based in ignorance”, “carry very little worth”, “delusions” calling people “illiterate”, “irrelevant”, “worthwhile”, “full of yourselves”, “ignorance”, “arrogance”
Yep, sounds objective to me.
I don’t know exactly what you wanted for an interlude that closes one chapter of a story before another is opened? Did you want Blue Angels to fly overhead, doing aerial-acrobatics to the guitar riffs from Crazy Train?
Yes. Yes, I did.
o.o
Fort Aspenwood
“Oil down.” “Mortar down.” “Stupid arrow cart.”
No need to go into that discussion "again"been there done that.,i said what i said,no need to try and convince me otherwise ..if you didn’t understand my post i suggest you to read it again.I stick by what i said, and always will.
I just wanted to articulate the opinion in a way that couldn’t be accurately described as crying to display that yeah, some of those people who didn’t like it actually thought it through and made very valid points.
You shouldn’t dismiss people who share the opinion as crybabies or sheep just because they didn’t express it first (or as the case may be- just because you don’t agree with them).
I wasn’t trying to change your mind with that post. I was trying to show that my opinion isn’t any less valid than yours just because we aren’t in agreement. Likewise I wanted to point out that in your post you were essentially formulating the same opinion about the end of this chapter as the people you call sheep did about ME3’s ending. Meaning if you think my opinion of ME3’s ending is less valid than yours, then your opinion of this chapter’s ending in GW2 is less valid than that of someone who thinks more highly of it than you do.
Feedback is valuable regardless of whether it’s positive or negative.
So did we decide what to call the ending/interlude/climax/whatever yet? Enderludemax?
Strangely not since Halloween have i actually enjoyed Guildwars 2 content…
Me either.
And it doesn’t really matter how bad ME3’s ending was. F&F was lame, regardless.
Just one more reason why I went from raving fan to raging detractor. The people that I talked into buying GW2 back at launch are long gone, and have had a good laugh that I told them how great it would be…and they got…things like this.
I suppose I still post here because I enjoy forums, and was such a huge fan during GW, and there’s some part of me that hopes ArenaNet will unscrew themselves and get this game back on track. Still not seeing it happen…

MMO’s never unscrew themselves they only slide down a spiral in the same direction.
The bonfire was just an achievement; not part of the story. The way they presented it I can see as a bit misleading though.
Personally, I loved the Flame and Frost arc. The scenario was interesting and the dungeon was great, although I would have liked to have seen more done with it.
They could have also had an npc refugee that players met during the Flame and Frost story message the player about Southsun to tie them together a bit better.
You can talk to Rox and Braham at the bonfires in BC and Hoelbrak and the refo’s in LA. This suggests to me that you are supposed to visit all three bonfires to get the full epilogue.

No you can’t. They are gone.
I felt relatively let down by it, and you know, I’m a fan boy. Ask anyone. lol
Snip
I actually liked the ME3 ending (after extended cut that is)
Still crapped on all companions and choices you made over the course of 3 games.
What was Mass Effect about again? Oh right, the companions you met and the choices you made.
Extended ending? I still only saw A/B/C, completely cut of from the choices in the rest of the (3) game(s).
Can’t believe some people were actually satisfied with that “bread for the poor” extension.
But, oh well, i guess it’s not only a old shoe by now, but also not quite the topic.

Your point being? If you missed out on doing the epilogue at the appropriate time, then I’m sorry that you missed it but at least you can still get the Achievement.
I think it’s worth pointing out how Flame and Frost started – content that could be completed in a couple of hours, at most, that lasted a full month. If you go back and read what people on the forums were saying back then you’ll find an almost unanimous opinion that this was a terrible way of doing things. Can you imagine if the bonfire, the matching epilogue to the prologue of those refo’s streaming into the cities, lasted for a month?
Anet has to find the “sweet spot”. The release of Southsun wasn’t handled very well at all, and from that experience they learned that a few days is a) far too short a time to do a major event b) the servers cry at that kind of strain and c) as predicted, a lot of people missed out. The prologue for Flame and Frost was mind-numbingly boring but nobody missed out. The second part of F&F was more interesting, and had content to keep people occupied, but a month was still too long. The third part was, most people agree, pretty frakking awesome… but two weeks was absolutely not enough time, at least not for that kind of content. The epilogue was too short by a looong way, but the alternative was worse. And then there’s the other problem, that of development – it takes time to get things done, and the bigger that thing is the longer it will take to do. Anet has to find the balance between all of these things, and part of that balance is having content last an appropriate length of time. Minor content should not last for a month, and major content should not last for a few days.
It’s worth pointing out here, that if you were to do all parts of F&F just once, each of the first three parts would have taken about the same time to complete. In fact, the content that most people perceive to be the biggest part (Molten Furnace) was actually one of the shortest parts. The difference between the three dungeons and the rest of the F&F Living Story is that they were repeatable and repeatably enjoyable.
Just to touch on a different subject for a moment, there is no compelling reason for the three F&F dungeons to be temporary content. The lore of the Mists aside, every single time we do one of the existing dungeons for a second time we are reliving past events (how many times have you stopped Gaheron Baelfire from becoming a god, or thwarted Kudu’s plans?). The F&F story instances even gave us the option to relive conversations. Dungeons need not have a story mode and an explorable mode, you only need to look at the dungeons we have now to see that some paths are almost never run. Even without the mini and backpack (which should count as tempoorary content) as possible rewards, people would still be running MF because it was fun. I haven’t made a Warrior or Mesmer yet, but it would have been fun to take one of them into the Hatchery because it’s something different, instead when I do get around to making them I will be stuck running the same old dungeons and story instances. Making those three dungeons permanent is [i]not[/]i the same as making the entire plot permanent.
