Well let`s see.. I`ve been there on karka event (obviously) and about every day while Ori node was still a rich one. Since they changed node quality, I`ve been there once, I needed T6 and decided to farm karkas for bloods. An hour and a half in I decided it is not worth my time and left. Haven`t been there since.

Reflecting their projectile does sometimes over half their health in damage

My engi shield 4 just insta-kills them. But as every other one-mob-type-farm, it is mind-numbingly boring, waiting on reflects CDs just makes it worse (though engi got two reflects if he`s lucky and interrupt on low-CD). And you cant even train and AoE them to make farm at least a tiny bit more interesting.

Bring a party. AoE en-masse.

I can personally tank 4-5 of them just fine solo on my warrior. Yes i know Warrior Lulz OP PvE that’s the idea.

Even if you can tank them they are still too few and far-between. And if I can get a party together, I doubt we`ll choose karkaland as a place to hang out. No real incentive. Most probably we will go high-lvl fotm or wvw. I only tried it as a source of T6 when none of my guildies are online and I have nothing better to do.

Every day. Several times a day. 30 minute stretches if I’m by myself, longer if a party forms. Easy gold one way or another (around 1 gold every half hour or so) that requires no other people. Now get off my island unless you’re here to help me farm karkas!

If you want to make gold level artifice and weapon smithing. I could make from 6 to 8 gold from one exotic apothecary staff. Not sure what they go for now since not playing but crafting makes $$

I stopped going when the new stuff came out. I don’t feel I have any business being there now that it is for those Big Guild people.

They don’t go there unless the bounty is up. And they don’t STAY after he’s dead.

Really it’s the same as anywhere else there’s a bounty target short of Frostgorge

I go there everyday for jump puzzles. The one on pearl island is the easiest one in the game besides maybe Urmaug’s secret in Lion’s Arch. I do the three jumping puzzles in Lion’s Arch and then since you can get to southsun using the boats in Lion’s Arch for absolutely free it’s like I have 5 daily jumping puzzles close together I can farm for their chests.

Yesterday, made 4g by myself in 30 minutes.

Been there a few days ago for the karma vendor that sells orichalcum mining picks. Had to solo the karka egg layer first because supposedly nobody else was in the area. As a mesmer, feedback makes it easy for me to kill the small karkas. The veterans take some time but are well doable. What is the most annoying about that zone is the density of mobs, much like the original orr, and the ridiculously high aggro range of those floating things that shoot electric bolts or whatever that’s supposed to be. If anything kills me in that area it’s either one of those being aggroed in addition to what I’m currently fighting, or a veteran karka patrolling the area.

Don’t be afraid to get wet Seriously.

Barracudas still rain large & armored scales and there’s plenty of skelk in the water that drop potent & powerful bloods and fangs. You’re looking at 5-10 t6/hour and about 50+ t5 per hour (i time it by food buffs). Toss in the weapon/armor drops, a pile of tail fins and all the random 74c from enemies and you’re easy 3-4g/hour.

I run full rabid necro and pull 5 enemies at a time with the trident (trident 2 does the trick usually) —> stack bleeds -->BiP —> epidemic and bleed em out.

I visit almost daily. The JP’s are quick, can hit the reef drake broodmother for another small chest. What to do with about 900 passion fruit? (and only 10 flowers, seriously wtf with these flowers)

Unfortunately, as few times as possible.

There’s something the devs did with the karka that causes my video card to freeze up a bit every time. Similar to the effect that TES4’s oblivion gates had, just not as bad.

With the new card incoming, though, I may have another go at it. Didn’t know about the reflect tricks, will need to look at that more.

When was the last time you did anything at all on that island? I personally haven’t visited it once in ~3 months.

Been about the same amount of time for me since I haven’t been playing for about 2 months now since they can’t seem to do anything positive with my class Engineer much less with the meta system in the game. Been waiting on new ones since launch but nothing yet.

Thought south cove was going to be the new meta center but apparently not.

The last couple of months I’ve spent around 12 hours a day farming there for karka shells and I can tell you that the game is doomed.
