Latency issues unplayable for OCX
This paired with local ISP issues with higher-than-normal jitter (around 20-50ms) has lead to the game becoming completely unplayable in many respects – and I’m in NA. I’ll frequently falter between 45 ms (great) and 5k+, causing huge hanging issues which causes teleport effects to frequently fail and leave me in the same position as I started despite blowing the cooldown. Players are all over the place, and my single-targeted abilities often fail or completely miss.

OCX here and no ping issues. Would help the devs if you stated where you were from, what net you were using, in which aspects you lag(ged).
Since you linked a WvW lag thread, I assume it’s just there?
I actually noticed this when i was on my NA account a week back (i am a eu player) that i had extremely high ping and very low fps for no reason and to a point were i just left, because it was unplayable.
How ever here is the thing, i have guildies who experience this issue from EU as well even though they play from EU . And the day before yesterday when i log in to my EU account it felt like i logged in to glue. I had 400 ping and 8 fps by standing still in the Timberlaine map. I could barely move and it did not go away. So i relog the game and now it is perfectly fine again. Right so i log in to wvw, and BAM same issue i stand in spawn with noone arround me and the maps was not full this was early daytime.
So i ask in guildchat if they have same thing and they say yes and relog and it will go away, so i did, and it went away. How ever i can’t really do this during primetime since then i have a 20 man que to relog to. Many of my guildies are dealing with this issue and it just changed from one day to another. We all play from different countries in EU so does not seem to be that we play from the same area. And it seem to affect both wvw and pve.
SEA player here. been getting 1k ping since last week. whenever there are a lot of players the ping spikes to 5k. unplayable most of the time.
Anet need to get their game fixed.

As stated in my original post in bold above I said the game was unplayable in all aspects because of extreme latency, genius. I am from Australia (east coast) and my internet connection is 125 download and 2.5 upload (I have fiber optic internet). I have troubleshooted this issue in GW2 by testing my internet via websites such as Speedtest.net and Pingtest.net which all returned extremely positive results. Additionally, I called my ISP to ensure there was nothing wrong with my internet, in which case they told me that my internet was operating in perfect condition. Moreover, I further tested my connection by noting my latency in other games, in domestic servers and West US servers. Domestic servers returned a ping of 10 and on West Coast USA servers I had a consistent ping of 210 – 240. Compared with GW2 ping of 1000 – 4000 and above.
Blame Comcast, they’re responsible for just about every other lag and latency issue in the US. It wouldn’t surprise me if your connection to the game got bottlenecked when your game data hit their networks here in the US.

Have you tried using the other client port? There as some issues on GW2’s side (to this day I still can’t get into a keg toss activity that doesn’t have constant 4k spikes in ping), but I’ve found that local ISPs will throttle the default port (6112) for international game traffic during prime time hours.
Try making a shortcut to the GW2 launcher and add “-clientport 80” (without quotes) to the end of the target; port 80 is the standard port for HTTP traffic, which ISP’s can’t throttle because they’d lose customers faster than dodgy router drops packets if they do.
A concern that’s been raised before is that port 80 isn’t secure and your packets can theoretically be intercepted, so there’s that to think about.

Okay, “genius”, mine’s never spiked above 240. Only because you’re experiencing the issue and not 100% of the rest of us from OCX doesn’t give you the right to be a kitten about it.
I posted some details about how I’m having the same problem but it got deleted for some reason. After 6pm ocx my ping spikes to unplayable levels and is back to normal during NA.
OCX = 600 – 2000
NA = 350
