Almost everyday when I first go on GuildWars2 the first thing I always do is my daily; of course once you are done you get Laurel’s.

About two day’s ago I went to the Laurel Vandor & looked what the vandor carried; I did see one thing that CAUGHT my eye which was the Rare & Excotic Armor/Weapons you can get for you’re certain class; so with that said

Is It WORTH the 5 Laurel to get that?

No. Save it for Ascended items or Cosmetics.

See the other tabs too. There’s ascended equipment available, which is even more powerful than exotics. Most notable is the ascended amulets, which currently can’t be gotten in any other way.

Depends on what comes out of the box. And there is no way of knowing that beforehand. It will be either rare of exotic. So it really is something only you can decide for yourself if you want to well, gamble

Save for ascended utility amulet and gilded infusion. Some may want the MF infusion, but I prefer cold, hard cash. No DR from dead enemy gold in dungeon rotations.

Isn’t the ascended equipment like 300 laurel? or something crazy like that? I can’t really remember (o.O") I’ll have to check!

You will get 2 rare items from that box. With a chance for an exotic in place of one of the rares.

Theoretically, this means a chance at a precursor. But I haven’t heard of anyone getting one and I wouldn’t count on it.

You have to decide if that is worth it to you.

I believe the ascended amulets are 30 laurels and rings are 35 laurels.

If you actually WANT to gear up with rares, I’d say it was worth it. However, if what you really want is exotics, I think this would be an expensive and painful way to try to acquire them. I’d go for something else in that case.

I’m planning to use my laurels for ascended items.

So is the ascended only accessory? or is there armor and weapons too?

Just accessories so far. You can craft backpieces (or get them with fractal tokens and some other stuff), rings come from fractal tokens, laurels and drops, and amulets come only from laurels at this point.

How about the 10 dye packs? You can be lucky and get abyss and sell for over 20 gold. Have anyone tried them? Still saving for my amulet but im going for dyes next unless they nerf it cause it just seems too good! 10 dyes for just 5 laurels? You can even sell the unidentified dyes at 30s each thats 3 gold! For just 5 days doing something that comes alone while just playing.

The dye packs is safer and potentially more profitable.
The gear packs you wont be getting exactly what you want, and you won’t be selling the gear for as much as the 10 unidentified dyes.

Mhmmm, so really people just go for the amulet & rings; then what? Dye’s and Mini’s? heehee I guess I can’t really complain

I’m fairly certain that there was a post (blog or forum) that said that there was not a chance of precursors from the laurel boxes.

There are no ascended armor or weapons as yet. Only an additional backpiece that you can get by running Fractals of the Mists dungeons.

Only reason I see the boxes as kind of good. Is the chance of salvaging them for ectos. Or throwing them in the forge to make a precursor.

I’d say go for amulet/rings and other things before the boxes though.

We can assume they’ll be adding more stuff, so it doesn’t hurt to just hold on to the laurels.

Just saying.. Right now the unid-dyes are 20s-ish a piece.

That’s just shy of 2g per 5 laurel. If you’re feeling risky, you can go for the abyss. 10 dyes ~ 5 days + any drops. not a bad deal IMO.

I bought a dye pack and got Abyss out of it – easy 20g. Will be saving the rest for amulet/rings I think.

Depends… I buy the boxes (kittenes be crazy!) and i do for 1 simple reason:

Im going for a legendary, and this is a great way for me to get rares to salvage for ecto’s or maybe even get a precursor (So low chance, its probably not worth mentioning but oh well)

They also patched it yesterday so you get exotic more often from them

I’m going to buy whatever I can with my laurels. Probably won’t save them for acended stuff after the update.

Spent my laurel on obsidian shards and got my twilight faster
