Does anyone happen to know how to get more laurels apart from the waiting a month to get enough to purchase one ascended item from your account. I’d like to equip my characters with ascended accessories, rings and amulet but their is never enough for that and recipes for ascended armor, etc.

Log-in rewards are the only way to get laurels.

Edit: Yeah, and achievement chests.

Laurels are exclusively from login rewards and achievement point rewards.

Ascended accessories, rings, amulet and back piece can be casually obtained from the season 3 maps. For armor and weapons, buy something else and use the mystic forge to stat swap.

Use your laurels for the amulet
For rings you should be using pristine fractal relics.
For accessories you should be using guild comidations

The WvW Laurel merchant takes 250 badges of honor and 20 laurels for amulets (10 laurels cheaper than the PvE Laurel merchant).
He also takes 250 badges of honor and 25 laurels for rings (as not all people do fractals) (5 laurels cheaper).

But I’d check out the new maps first and get what you can using the map currencies.

I’d say make the vial of salt rather then spending laurels on an amulet. Its cheap and has selectable stats.

Depending on what stat type you are after, the HoT and LS2 story achievements also give you an ascended amulet/accessory.

I agree. I bought the few laurel-based items I wanted/needed a long time ago. I have over 1200, and I really wish they would update the set of items you can obtain with them. Several of the options (rares, mats, shards, dyes) are relatively easy to obtain other ways, and I already have multiple stacks of all of those except the T6 mats. Others are useless to me (advanced tools – I already have perma tools) and the mini’s are a 1-time buy. Meanwhile, I unlocked the LS skins and rewards by playing the content when it was available.

Earning 500 laurels takes nearly12 months, if you don’t spend any and you always take the Bountiful Laurels option from the ‘monthly’ login chest. For veterans, a year isn’t that long, especially if most of your characters already are geared up. However players just reaching L80 and interested in ascended recipes/crafting & fractals won’t have a stockpile. For them, a year seems like an interminable time to ‘wait’ to gear up.

I don’t think that ANet should increase the rate we get laurels — it’s a loyalty reward and there are (mostly) alternative sources for the things we ‘need’ via laurels, plus plenty of ways to efficiently spend them. All the same, let’s not pretend that it’s all that easy for newer players the first time they start counting up costs and comparing to the limited income.

I suspect many players do that. I’ve blown laurels to buy T6 mats in the past when I was crafting legendaries (2 so far), but I have little interest in making more at this time, and thus I have little need of T6 mats.

My accumulation of laurels is not due to active hording, but rather an indictment of my laziness. I let currencies build up if I don’t need them, and I only spend them when something motivates me to do so. Right now, there’s virtually nothing in the game motivating me to do that.

just make sure you take the box with 20 extra laurels on the 28th login day

then you will get a total of 55 laurels per month which is really good

You can get ascended acessories easily from guild missions with the guild commendations that you get from doing the missions
You can get ascended rings easily by doing fractals of the mists
Just start with lower levels but always do the dailies for them (if you can go higher than T1 dailies (Fractalscale 1-25) then do those too)
You just need 10 pristine fractal relics for 1 ascended ring of your choice so after just 3 days of doing the T1 dailies only you would have enough pristine relics for an ascended ring
If you can go higher than T1 you can get the necesary relics in 1-2 days depending on how high in fractals you can go

After spending the first 3 years wiping all my laurels every month by purchasing 1 piece of jewelry or armor / weapon recipe or some infusion set for my various wvw characters, I’ve learned 1 thing…this is not the way to go.

First, though spontaneous, rings drop from wvw and fractals. I currently have a whole bank tab of ascended rings gained from wvw drops. Amulets can be gained through story, I have 3 sitting in my bank unused.

The craftable weapon and armor insignias and incriptions? The ones I and many others spent laurels on? Yeah, through a generous gift from Anet, you only now need to purchase 1 recipe set per weight and anything you craft or get via drops can be “stat swapped” through the forge. Ascended weapons? Hot offered a whole set, armor? Once again, though spontaneous, chests drop from wvw.

Don’t wipe your laurels guys, meta stats will change, methods of gaining armor, weapons and jewelry will change and YOU will find yourself with bank tabs full of purchased stuff and a wallet of laurels that does not reflect the amount of time you’ve spent playing.

Gear 1 character with laurels if you must, but do not depend of this currency for all your primary toons, just play and the stuff you need will come.
