I just recently decided I wanted to get a set of sinister gear and thought, well, I can craft the gear and then buy the accessories with laurels but I could not find any.

So my question is where can I purchase new stat-type gear for laurels if there is a place and if NOT then why?

I get ascended armor/weapons needs to be crafted just like any other gear but why is exotic gear of the newer stat-types account bound on craft and why can we buy so many different stat-typed accessories but not new ones like sinister or minstrels?

I’m just honestly curious what reasons there could be for this? Discussion welcome!

Ascended sinister trinkets come from the Living Story 2 achievements. Once you’ve completed the achievement and been awarded 1 of the trinkets you can then buy copies of it from laurel merchants, but not before.

“Core” stat sets are laurel based, but just like the recipies and crafting material, extended stat sets always require resources gained by playing in new content. It’s that whole horizontal progression thing. They want you to have good reasons to play new maps, so usually they add new stat sets that people might want.

Considering stats are all derived from gear now, they could go on this route for quite some time, especially now that boon and condition duration are proper numerical stats now.

if I remember correctly, the thorns rune comes from one of the map currency vendors.

I kind of figured but was hoping I’d only have to make HALF my gear. xD
