It was…in the sense the Devs (Mike O’Brien, et al.) have repeatedly spoken about working on the next expansion, as well as other official sources.

They haven’t actually announced it. We know that they’re working on one but that’s all we know. At some point they’ll presumably do a proper announcement when they tell us the name, roughly what it’s about, show a preview video etc. and we’ll either get a release date then or sometime later.

It looks like the story is going to be about fighting both Jormag and Primordius though, which should be interesting. I’m guessing that means they’ll be filling in more of the north of the map.

Yea, i dont know why, i always try it but i never get into SAB. Its probably the event i mostly hate, i avoid it completely mostly. Good thing is it doesnt affect on anything the game, well maybe i lose the chance of earning those cool skins but thats about it.

SAB isn’t hard. far from it, I found it very easy (blame on years of playing rayman). I just don’t think it’s worth development time. I mean, it has zero connection to the world, and really, it was just implemented as a joke, a joke that has gone too far.
It was a fun laugh the first time, but now people are forcing anet to remake the same joke over and over, and frankly, if it comes at the cost of development, I don’t want it. I don’t think april fools’ gimmicks are worth the lack of LS3 and Current Events updates

Oh, and you have to walk and act on a beat otherwise you get knocked down.

Do you think “hey anet, thanks for the content that took you a lot of effort to make and took away on production of the main game” or do you think “what the skritt, anet??”

I have NOTHING against minigames, but they need to make sense.. they need to fit in the game. Crab Toss fits in the game, Southsun Survival fits in the game, Zephyrite Sprint fits in the game.
Seasonal events; Wintersday and Halloween fit in the game.

I enjoyed it, though the first time. It was new, it was a joke, it was fun. But it’s no longer a joke, people think it’s part of the core game now, and demand more effort put into it. For a while, it was billed as a core component to the game after the intial release. During the “Back to School” release, the same year as the original April launch, the backstory to the content advanced in the form of an “unlockable cutscene”, so to speak, which foreshadowed further expansion. This further expansion, however, was canceled when SAB was converted into a yearly festival, starting this year; it should be noted that the festival return was after a three year gap since the previous release, after multiple promises of return.

If you’re going to disparage content, at least research it first.

People really need to get over the fact it was just an april fools joke all those years ago. (Have the memberberries gotten to this game?)

For a while, it was billed as a core component to the game after the intial release. During the “Back to School” release, the same year as the original April launch, the backstory to the content advanced in the form of an “unlockable cutscene”, so to speak, which foreshadowed further expansion. This further expansion, however, was canceled when SAB was converted into a yearly festival, starting this year; it should be noted that the festival return was after a three year gap since the previous release, after multiple promises of return.

If you’re going to disparage content, at least research it first.

The further updates weren’t canceled. They merely stated they couldn’t provide a w3 or w4 this time around due to time constraints. The time constraints were in place because they had to re-build w1/2 and the lobby due to the camera changes that went in.

They very well could add a w3/4 in the future as part of the festival.

Do you guys really need to go against Super Adventure Box that much? They can work on world 3 as a pet project and release it some April in the future. Content you don’t like doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be in the game no matter how vocal you want to be. It’s a festival. People can’t be happy in Super Adventure Box and hope for world 3 one day because it’s an April fools joke?

I love SAB, I look forward to it each year and I really would like it to be continued, I mean 2 more worlds and then yeah it can be put to the side and have no new content (unfair but fine).

People complaining about them putting time and effort into it but I wonder if those people like having unfinished content in game? I really don’t, and it is not like you cannot tell it is unfinished there are 2 more doors to be opened!

As for Lore, Really?!? once it was released in game it became part of the worlds lore, and for those who have started living world 3, Taimi’s holograph game (remember that one) yeah that is based of Moto’s design A.K.A. Super Adventure Box, so lore yeah it is there.

As for it becoming an expansion pack, no I would not pay for a finished product of a half finished product, or something that use to be free to play, that they take away yearly just seems shoddy business to me.

Tbh, it would be so silly and funny that it might actually work. Would be a first for a MMORPG.

I liked the SAB. I don’t get why people are whining so much about it. It’s amusing and a neat little distraction.

I mean, I loathe PvP and the absolute toxicity of that entire community, but I don’t complain when they release a new PvP map or skins or minis. They could have used all that wasted time developing things I like instead of things other people like! How dare they cater to other players! [insert heaps of salt here]

I wouldn’t mind seeing SAB finished. I’d squeak like a little quaggan and run around it for years (or what little time we do get).

Everyone went into an uproar about how there was no new Halloween or Winterday content but god forbid SAB gets anything new.

The complainers are the loudest. People who don’t like SAB don’t want resources ‘taken away’ from other projects. I don’t like raids and would rather a new SAB map would be developed in it’s place, but the game doesn’t revolve around my interests so
