Hi, has anyone still found a Halloween vendor since yesterday the Halloween festival ended?

  • If yes, could you tell me where?
  • If no, and this is a question to ArenaNet, is it possible to leave festival vendors present like a week after the festival ends? (like it was after the Mordrem Invasion event)
The festival ended without notification or countdown, and now I am sitting on a stack of unopened tricko’treat bags, 1000+ skulls, fangs & nougats (which will increase when I start opening the bags) and which I now no longer can convert to their gibbering, high quality & tyria’s best variants.
I already visited the festival merchant in north Lion Arch, but he only trades 1000 candy corns to a cob, the 20 slot bag and the mini prince.
The reason I left so many tricko’treat bags unopened, is that I was curious how much luck the Halloween festival would give me.
    >> ArenaNet, could you please re-enter a Halloween vendor for the next few days?

It has been the same way for three years now. The Halloween vendors disappear on the last day and ArenaNet actually warned us it was the last day. Not refining your materials was your choice.

You can still vendor them, not that much of a loss tbh.

Could you pass on to me exactly where the announcement was made that the festival was ending yesterday? I’m mostly curious because it was supposed to last two weeks. Ty in advance.

I didn’t know that, this was my 1st Halloween
They did? In which way did ArenaNet warn us?
I did refine my materials, but if you are left with let’s say 800 nougats on the last day, you can’t refine them yet because you need a 1000. And the 1000+ I have now is because I already started opening bags yesterday and when reaching 1000 I went looking for a vendor … and found none

Tuesday is always patch day and there they announced “nearly two weeks of content”.

Also a reddit post announced Halloween ended on Nov 4th, based on the fact that the banner of the gemstore changed (aka game patch). You could also have looked at the time limit on the Halloween related gemstore items.

He is still in Lion’s Arch and has been all year

You might want to try seeing what he has or is trading for

He only trades a very limited amount of Halloween stuff.
Corn into cobs and cobs into pails and a mini iirc.
Better than nothing though.

Yes, 1.Tuesday is patch day, but yesterday was Wednesday . 2. Reddit is not ArenaNet.
3. There are still a few things in the Gem Store Halloween related.

That’s what I mentioned in my starting post :

Thanks for making me notice the vendor value. They will be sold then

Ok, they mentioned it. But I would expect such announcement in the
News and Announcements or Game Release Notes forums.
Or even better, in the game itself.

I just wish more of the Halloween junk had a vendor value, since most of the stuff has no value on the TP. Everybody is overflowing with toilet paper, rotten eggs, and low-level foods. I have about 20 bank slots full of this stuff and nothing I can do with it but destroy it (to make room for all the Wintersday junk that I will later end up destroying as well).

I had a problem with this, too. It being my first GW2 holiday and being a GW1 veteran, I expected that event traders would remain for a while afterward. It was a real disappointment to find out otherwise Tuesday afternoon that I’d missed out on trading corn cobs for exclusive event items.
I agree that notification of end dates should be announced at the welcome screen upon login in order to be effective and to reach all players. You can say “Hey, it’s your own fault. You didn’t read the forums or decode the gem store…” or you can create a player friendly, straight forward solution. I expect a satisfactory product or service to do the latter. The fact that events have been done this way for consecutive years is no excuse, either, it just means that it has been done poorly repeatedly.
