Guild Wars 2

Long time loyal fan, ever since prophecies and since beta weekend 1-3.. It might not matter to most of those who cross this thread, but maybe it will ring a tone in someones ear at Arenanet that there are people in this game that care about it and that maybe they should be more considerate of their “already” player base. I have defended this game for so long, and even watched many friends leave this game only to adventure through this game alone. Sure, I had a guild but this game is even more enjoyable with friends that you have played with over a course of years. As a loyal fan, it saddens me to say that due to arenanet making decisions that is taking this game in a direction that I don’t clearly like right now, I am finally calling it quits myself.

I dont care to point out what these issues are, as too much can be said but I do hope that maybe the “New” players enjoy this awesome world that Areanenet has built for everyone to experience and I wish everyone the best.

For the times I did enjoy, Thanks Arenanet!

I won’t judge you on the choices you make hope you come back and get to relive that magic you lost.

Can’t say I blame you, but I recommend you wait it out and see. Hopefully, all these complaints will make ANet realize something is . . . amiss. . . .

It’s always sad when a person leave a game, but it’s claire to me that the problem is not the expansion, maybe you lacked some friends or a nice guild you like to play around.
Also, Im a loyal player since Prophecies aswell and I’m glad Anet made HoT.

While I won’t question your personal decision to move on (your reasons are, after all YOUR reasons), I cannot fathom why someone would not want to leave feedback about a game they’ve obviously felt so passionate about.

Uriel was a regular contributor in the necromancer forums (longtime Necro forum lurker here), so I’m wondering if this is more about the continued state of necromancer than HoT…

That part is not necessarily true. My guild is quite active and even though a lot of them (majority it seems) won’t be getting the expansion right off the bat …as a guild leader excited for guild halls – this is extremely saddening as I was really looking forward to playing the expansion with everyone but now, it won’t be happening…there will be some people who get it but not all.

I hope that the pricing is actually justifiable for the content they provide, so I can give some constructive feedback to the second-wave of HoT purchasers so that they can join in on the fun. But for now, …paying for expansion that is not even remotely close to the size of the base game …is a bit painful for most people.

The most benefit comes to brand spanking new players who just heard about the expansion. They get the base+expansion, wherease the older players get…shafted

Gotcha. It is a shame to see contributors go. Hopefully, somewhere down the road OP will be able to come back with a whole heart and be a productive member of the community again.

I actually got more positive feedback then I expected. I cant be salty at arenanet though. They have done a great job with this game and have provided me with countless hours of fun. so I will keep my eye on the HoT. But as of now, I rather leave with the last bit of dignity that I have for this game.

You can still play GW1. I still do.
It’s a great game, free from all this non-transparency and shady business tactics.
