Yup, I think that I left GW2, cuz…

here are no ways to obtain money. Stupid reason is stupid, but it really annoys me that, you can’t obtain money, because:
-DR on farming, the more you farm, the less items you get.
-DR on dungeons, the more dungs you do, the less silver (?) you get.
-DR on events, so you get worse reward if you farm them,
-DR on million more things,
-15% tax in the TP,
-bad scaled teleporting costs: in low lvls teleportation costs were OK, but on lvl 80 they are a bit… too high.

I want to have full exotic set, exotic named weapon worth few hundreds of gold and at least 1 max slots bag. It really saddens me that you could earn high amount of “gold” in GW1 (it was hard job, yes) and ANet ruined it all by adding DR to EVERYTHING.

Yes, I was farming ores/trees, cuz they don’t have DR (so far). And I was playing TP, but those orders take soooo much time, that I can barely earn 1g in one day.

I might play that game, just for pvp, maybe few times in a month.

And yes, gold is as important for me as other things in that game (like dungeons, pvp… gold gives me fun, too [strange?]).

Let’s look back to GW1: people saw you with obsidian armor or rare dhuum, or maybe crystalline weapon? So they surely thought: “he has obsi armor! He had to farm for it very, very long. It was hard job, but he managed to do it”.

Obtaining “rare items” in GW1 was hard thing, but in GW2 it is 1000000000000% harder. In GW1 if you wanted to farm one thing, let’s say [weapon] Froggy, you could obtain it in 1st or 100th run. In GW2 if weapons would drop from mobs, too (I mean something like named weapons), you had to do 1000 more runs, because DR lowers chance to obtain item you want. For example, that weapon [in GW2] has 2% chance to drop. After few runs it’s chance lowers to 1% (well, maybe not so much, but it lowers, anyway).

I had issues with typically playing to get gold and not having to work TP etc… but now that fractals has been introduced i get rares and exotics left right and centre… two or so runs a day gets me easy a gold or two. Not including doing any outside farming or events.

before lost shores ANY dungeon gave same amount (less rare that worthed more).
Orr farming also
Crafting jewels
hunting orichalcum

etc etc etc…

Fractals give less because runs are longer and its hard to find a groul (expecially a decent group).

Also in a month people will be sick and tired to be forced there…..i can bet on this….

I haven’t tried that dungeon yet, but I am maybe going to try…

Anyway, here is one thing to say:
Costs of X items (named exotics, gifts, exotic armors) are… disproportionate to amount of gold you can obtain in a day. Let’s say you need 250 ectos for X item. 250 ecto costs 60g. If you are so pro or UBER LUCKY, you can obtain 250 ectos in maybe 30 days or a bit less… if you could get AT LEAST 2g for a day, which is impossible for me. I’d have to make 5 alts, lvl them to 80 and farm oris/ancient saplings on each of them, but I’d die sooner or later from that boredom. In GW1 here were MUCH MORE ways to obtain gold, and they weren’t boring, were they?
