This picture shows a guardian using a weapon in their left hand, yet I have yet to figure out how to make my weapon and shield be switched. People in my guild says it’s not possible and I can’t find anything on the internet showing how to do it. If it’s not possible then why did NC-Soft release advertising art showing a characters being left-handed? Wouldn’t this be false advertising? Because I get really dysphoric watching my character swing his weapon right handed to the point I really don’t think I can play this game.

That’s because the artist drew it like so and then someone in the marketing or the PR department decided it looked better facing the other way, comon practice.

You should place this on the suggestions part of the forum, ask them maybe to try and use scissors with the left hand so they could have a feel of what you mean.
It’s a valid request that should be taken in serious consideration as much as making a modern building wheel chair accessible is.
I remember in games like the original Unreal there was an option to pick the position and IT DOES make all the difference.

SInce left-handed play was not advertised as a feature of the game, or listed anywhere, it can’t be considered false advertising. For it to be considered false advertising, you’d have to find an ad for the game the explicitly mentions you can have a left handed character. Furthermore, you’d have to prove that that’s a desirable feature, that somehow changes the game.

False advertising usually refers to a selling point of something that makes someone buy it that turns out not to be the case. If you say your product helps you lose weight and it doesn’t, that’s false advertising.

The left handed thing would be laughed out of court so fast it’s not funny.

And if GW2 were made by Capcom, all characters would be left handed.

I’m going to try not to be as rude as possible, but you REALLY need to understand what the definition of “Concept Art” is.

Concept art is a form of illustration where the main goal is to convey a visual representation of a design, idea, and/or mood for use in films, video games, animation, or comic books before it is put into the final product. Concept art is also referred to as visual development and/or concept design.

It’s not a full representation of the finished product. So, it may have been a concept of left handedness prior to actually creating the final product, when it was decided to be right handed. And so what? Name one other game that allows you to choose whether your left or right is main or off hand. None that I’m aware of.

Windows provides an excellent feature to flip the monitor from one side to another for people who have difficulties reading from right to left, or in this case getting a sense of dysphoria from watching a right hand attack.

Truth be told, I think it would be cool to have an option to left-hand our characters. Just mirror the model.

Though I do wonder what that would do to cutscenes…

we can use weapons in our left hand in the game anyway, it’s a mace. A mace can be used in the off hand on warriors as we speak.

Our characters could be ambidextrous; just that they prefer their right hand. So no, no false advertising in the broadest sense of the phrase.

It’s obviously teaser for a new class!
It uses the shield in the main hand and a sword as off-hand!
