Certain areas, in general are impossible to complete on some characters I have. Especially so when I am the only character in the zone. This has to do with the Statues of Melandru and events in these areas. When I finished my first 80, it wasn’t a problem. New game, lots of help, and no need to be in a big guild to complete things. I am sure many others are like me, play when I can to have fun and usually alone, as I don’t have many friends who play as much as I can. All I am asking is, could you add a zone specific completion award, either daily or otherwise, or compression system or buffs for a character if doing events alone, or tune back some of the areas, especially underwater where you are scaled back and hordes of the risen are just flailing you around like a rag-doll. This is by no means fun, and after wasting 2 hours of trying to do the events to get the skill point at the Royal Forum and brambles hit you and de-buffs increase until you die, or 50 risen kill you, and finally clearing two other zones on my ranger, which by no means was fun. Me being the only player attempting to clear the Melandru curses, my Mesmer is 80, with Exotic gear all over, and its just impossible to take certain areas alone. I am just asking you to consider changes in these zones, most are manageable, others are impossible alone. Scale back the health of mobs, something. Being unable to play a character and finish a zone because of ridiculous circumstances isn’t fun, it is stressful, and playing for us who just like to play solo, well, we don’t wish to play when that is occurring. PVP is also this way, as I am sure a lot of players just don’t like PVP, myself included. The only reason I have to yet complete the 100% achievement on my 1st 80, is because our server, battle-group, whatever, never has control of areas I need to explore. Just some ideas to help us who don’t have 300 people in a guild for the most part which started when the game came out, have no interest in helping, or gearing someone who cant play 14 hours a day. In a pure perfect world, people would understand, a group effort benefits all. But, unfortunately this generation doesn’t have that mentality now. Its more of what can I get, and once I get it, heck with the rest. At one point as GM I was managing 14 Raid groups. Being rude, hostile, etc is easy for kids and likewise to destroy gaming for the rest because the fear factor of getting smacked around in real life is non-existent. Its sad to say that, but it is the truth. Friendships develop in guilds, but when some are out for themselves and bail on a raid group or something, it ripples through the entire structure of the guild. The stress and trying to make all happy was horrible. I left WOW in this regard. They didn’t care about our input, our requests, and just proceeded to ramp up for big guilds, and left the casual players suffering as others get gear, then never return or desire to run old content to help advance those like me now in GW2. I do applaud the dungeon finder, but you have players who run through the dungeon skipping a full clear to just get the daily done. For me, I have no drive, need, want to re-assume being in a large guild for the aforementioned facts. Guilds are a "nature of the beast’ experience. Accomplishing raids and instances, there is no better feeling doing that. But eventually, it starts to crumble inside because of human nature. For people like me who devoted so much running a guild like that with 900 players, I just didn’t and couldn’t take it anymore. Thus why solo play is more my way now. Casual players also depend on more kill for the buck, a.k.a. drops from baddies. If your not killing them, and missing loot to for MF because people just run to the bosses and skip everything. I know how people take advantage of exploits, farming, and other means to get what they want. When they are done, they don’t care if one person needs something. Just human nature I guess. I am not asking for things to be a piece of cake, The Gem Store although this system doesn’t allow you to buy gear, Ascended or higher for the most part, it does allow you to trade gems for gold.It can spiral out of control giving players no option to get gear for the poor players.Hurting your game base in that manner, is just unethical. The recent content with the Aetherblades destroying LA. The rest of the world was empty. Kryta zone is worse than Orr. Regular mobs hit like trucks and have 5 times the health of a single player. I have lived it and nothing is worse than investing years playing a game to see it destroy itself by these issues. When you can’t even get to a SP, vista or POI, well, there is no getting back the short life we all have trying to complete and advance. So what is the point of playing. GW2 has a lot to love, but a lot is out of reach for most. I hope this view from a lover of your game will be at least heard. TY.

I would have added a lot more, but to stay under limit of characters in a message, lol, this may sound rude after editing. But, straightforward issues above. A little tweaking, and love for the little guys, would be much appreciated.

For dealing with the idols, I’d suggest watching GW2 state (http://www.gw2state.com/temples.html) to find servers on which the temple related to the idol is open.

That deactivates the idols and lets you get the brambles and such out of the way. The two I have the toughest time with are Melandru and Lyssa, but in the long run it was easiest to just guest to a server where those temples were open.

For me, personally, when it got down to the end, I really only had a few skill points that I needed to guest in order to achieve, but it can be frustrating for sure.

Where are my gem sales? I want gem sales! Nerf EVERYTHING!
