Guild Wars 2

Well since my last post was deleted, I’m going to ask AGAIN. I don’t believe I am using an overly angry tone, nor am I using caps, nor swears, so there should be no deleted posts this time.

Is it fair to people that played Guild Wars 1, and to people that have purchased the game since… that you are offering Heritage armor in some kind of package deal?

This is just as bad as what happened with human t3 cultural armor.

How is this fair to anyone who spent all that time on title tracks in GW1, I ask you?

You know, maybe I’m wrong… but the site I was looking at informed me that it’s the EXACT same skin as heritage armor.

Sure you can’t conjure it up infinitely like heritage armor, but that’s still not really fair.

It’s not our heritage armor. It’s the gem store skins, the 500 gem ones, that they get to choose.

ok i’m calming down a little bit now… I gotta go look these armor guides again.

Hmm I don’t remember any legacy armor in the gemstore, the last new thing I remember is the trickster armor and the grenth hood and all that… I gotta go read some more I guess.

The website you looked at is wrong.

The skins given to players who buy the Heroic edition are the GW1 sets that have been sold in the gem store since release – that is the Primeval, Krytan and Profane sets.

They are not the ones available through the Hall of Monuments and look completely different.

OH MY GOD, seriously?! Phew! I am relieved.

Now if everyone will excuse me… I have a website to go chew out for misinforming me.

has “Heritage” armor listed as “Legacy”, just in case anyone gets freaked out like how I did.

I think a lot of people (particularly online journalists who may not actually play GW2) got confused by the fact that the skins are from GW1 and the original leaked advert was in German and the name of the skins could be translated as either Legacy (the actual name) or Heritage (the HoM skins) or a number of other things, off the top of my head I saw historical, history, ancestor and ancient.

That’s another possibility, I didn’t think of that… and legacy and heritage are sort of similar words, so there’s confusion in that as well.

Phew. I’m just glad they didn’t do something dumb. I hate being a baby about it, but I hope Heritage armor is NEVER available unless you buy gw1, link your accounts and get grinding.

When you go to the HoM in GW2 after linking your GW1 account, you talk to an npc and see your available Heritage Gear (and other skins, assuming you got enough points) by choosing “Show me my Legacy”.

For me it just seems that “Legacy” is basically a title for both Heritage skins and various other skins you get from HoM points (only obtainable through GW1 and linking your GW1 account to your GW2 account).
