Legendaries... A joke?
farming champs in orr gives a lot more money than farming cof did, and you’ll also probably get some t6 mats if you farm orr.
Is currently emotionally unstable because Breaking Bad is over
Don’t forget to hit the Scarlet invasions when they spawn too, that’s lots of money, and some mats as well. Not to mention a lot of stuff to salvage to get your magic find up (which will help you with money long term).
Try Orr and Frostgorge champ farm , follow the train I know people who made over 100g in day there. Doing it 24/7 for a while will prolly help you with your goals.
I have a legendary and let me just warn you that it is a massive grind. Some advice I would not farm for an individual crafting material it is a huge waste of time because of the low drop rates. I would join the frostgorge sound or Orr champ farm trains. If you don’t care about your magic find selling the blues and greens you get on the trading post will be very profitable right now. I wish you luck on your quest for a legendary.
I have bolt, I spent about 200g on bolt (144g went to charged lodestones, before they got this cheap) (zap was from forge).
Almost have howler finished. I bought howl for 200 (knew I should have got it 2 weeks ago for 120), and if I choose to finish it tomorrow I’ll need to spend about 90g.
Why did I have to spend so little gold on the materials? Got most of materials from kill drops, chest loot, loot bags from drops, champ boxes, and trading laurels for t6 mats.
You’ll be surprised how little money you can spend to get a legendary, the only real barrier is the precursor.
Champion loot is definitely the way to go, and the suggested locations above are great places.
Farm ancient wood and ori ore You can make decent bank off them atm. http://www.gw2nodes.com/

I’m familiar with the frostgorge farm, but what is the Orr farm after the ember nerf?
You will get a LOT of T6 mats when you make your mystic clovers.
Make the mystic clovers first.
you know what they say.. =P
time is money.. money is gems.. gems is gold.. gold is pretty legendary
Oh my god, are you actually complaining that getting a legendary is hard work? It’s actually already way too easy in this game to get one, particularly since the changes. I’ve never seen this many t6 mats, gold and lodestones being thrown at you when I was making my Sunrise a few months back (and even then I thought it was too easy).
Even lodestones have become considerably cheaper.Honestly, if you don’t want to work a little for it, don’t get one. It’s that simple.
The way players want everything instantly without having to put in any effort, that is a joke :/
If [false premise] then [grrrrrrrr]

Of course it’s easy. You farm all day and enjoy it.
Its a legendary. Its just a very expensive item, and its not for everyone. The good thing is you dont need it; you can craft ascended and have the same stats as legendaries. Or you can play game without farming and after months (maybe lots) get your Sunrise.
Just run dungeons, going for my second legendary and i never really farmed anything because that bores me and I rather have things take few more extra days rather then have to grind threw it.
Just do what is fun to you, if you just want to grind for a legendary then you’ll feel emptied by the time you get to it, and what then, leave?
I farmed 18 hours a day_on average_ for two months to get my legendary. I can’t farm anymore. I broke it.
That being said, 30 minutes trying to farm is nothing if that’s all you’re going to put into it. It takes time and intelligence. Try champion farms, invasions or even WvW. Simply crafting the inscriptions for the ascended weapons will land you 100g a piece.
You will get a LOT of T6 mats when you make your mystic clovers.

i wish… im poor so im trying to gather mats to craft ascended… i did 7 10X mystic clovers.. ended up getting 50 clovers and only 40 t6 mats… so now im thinking if might be worth going legendary over ascended. i wouls bank on the clovers… RNG either hates me.. or loves me.. im not sure which with those results.
Yes Legendaries are a joke:
What did the Legendary say to the Guardian?
Nothing a legendary is an inanimate object.
What does a player call the mystic forge when trying to get a precursor for a Legendary dagger?
The Incinerator
What do you call a player trying to get a precursor for a Legendary shortbow?
The Dreamer
What did they player with The Dreamer tell his guild mates?
"Never play leap frog with a unicorn."
What did the new player say when he got his Legendary?
"Thanks Dad!"

I got Dawn and a lot of the crap to craft the darn thing. Got most of the clovers just crafting them for the dailies, I think I need 5 more. But I’ve given the whole thing up because I hate Pugging dungeons and don’t feel the need to try and do by myself what was designed for 5 payers can do. I’ve even gone to the dungeon to bite the bullet and try and get into a group, surprise the place is empty. So who cares, obviously not many players in the game are collecting the currency. So I’ll live with out the darn thing. But there is nothing like buying a game with a built in fail. There should be a way to achieve and work hard without having to do the parts of the game your not interested in.
It’s so amusing when people realized the futility of achieving to what amounts to a shiny object with no practical functions in a game you’ll move on from in 1-10 years.
Hell at least in other mmos, those trophies can be useful. This more like spending 100 billion on the Mona Lisa. Sure it’s important and nice to look at. But it’s just ink and paper hanging on the wall in reality.
Now if they actually had special benefits other than what amounts to TF2 Hat particle effects, i’d wouldn’t say they are a joke.
Oh and those TF2 hats are also a joke.

Sorry kid.
It’s called “Effort”. Not “Cherry Picking”.
Sure I wish superpowers and fight crime, but being a police officer is as close to what you want to get to.

Question, since you mention other MMOs’ top end items being useful.
If you farmed for, and got, the top of the line, ultra cool, elite weapon in vanilla WoW, or any other MMO released years ago, how useful is it now ?
The only part I can’t really get for a legendary is the precursor.
The part that I think is a joke about the legendaries, is that they allow them, as well as most of the mats to craft one, to be sold on the market. They should have had a lot more achievement value to them.
Only Quip and Dreamer are jokes.
They are a joke for me, because l know l’ll never have one.
Gold acquiring is considerably easier than it ever was. I play a few hours a day including general events, a bit of mining runs, some champ farming, maybe an invasion – I still come away with at least 5g a day, not including that I’m hoarding a lot stuff and salvaging greens for luck.
I never earned that without effort when I was making a legendary and T6 mats certainly didnt drop with the regularity they do now (largely thanks to champs). It’s easier than ever to make money – it’s just better balanced across the whole game than it was before.
It’s a skin that’s meant to take months and more to get, that people read way to much into my the moniker “legendary” (its just a tier tag, not a description..)

So you didnt get Bolt for 200g, you found other materials which also have value, probably about 1k worth in todays economy…
The logic…lol…
If you want gold farm cursed shore and invasions when they pop, gold making is way easier than it used to be.
