Legendaries Now
If it takes you a week to get 100 gold in gw2 you’re either playing 1/2 hours a day and afking half of that time or you’re not doing anything besides sitting in town.
I just sold the leftover materials from making my 2nd set of ascended armor for my warrior/materials I gathered for over 80 gold just yesterday. If I can make roughly 15g a day while actually playing (not sitting in town) in a matter of an hour and a half you’re doing it wrong. You can get 3g a day from ac 1/3 and that takes you 15/20 minutes depending on your group.
LOL no. Even with your exaggerated numbers and somehow getting to run AC 1/3 5 times, you’d still take over 1 1/2 hours to farm that 15g. “Normal play” (doing daily, running a dungeon or two, maybe fractals) won’t get you anywhere close to that.
Kyraios it took me 4 months to finish my legendary. It wasn’t easy, it takes time and dedication in sticking to your goal. Mine was Kudzu so I realize in a way quite cheaper than yours, but a guildie made Twilight in about roughly the same time so it’s possible. On the last leg of it, final 2 weeks I was scrapping for karma as I had everything else ready.
First save gold towards pre. Every little thing helps. You should be safe with a buy order of 800g. If you’re lucky, by the time you have the g to afford it, you may get it for less, in the 750g range. It fluctuates quite a bit as the supply is ever increasing due to a lot of people throwing rare GSs in Forge with the double precursor chance. Don’t gamble yourself, unless you are willing to take the risk of it costing you double to get it this way.
Once pre is done work on mats. You get a decent stockpile of T6 from crafting the 77 clovers, I do them in singles and quite often get stacks of 3-4 of any given T6 mat needed. If you’re terribly unlucky with clovers like me, you should have about 100 of each easily by the time clovers are done. You can finish the stacks after with buy orders. I used to get 10-15 of one type a day and in a matter of weeks I had my Gift of Fortune complete! Don’t farm mats as the returns are pretty poor. Even from a temple run, you can get like 30 moldy bags from trash risen and only get like 1 t6 and 29 t5. It’s happened to me. The T6 drops are bad.
And I wasn’t really rolling in cash or gold to do any of this. I made about 10g a day from selling orichalcum and ancient wood from triple character harvest runs (takes 1h), along with parting with mats I didn’t need (food, orbs) for a bit of extra income at the end of a week. I’d do the occasional dungeon and get the 1.5g, but I’m not an avid dungeon runner unless my guildies call me for one.
It took me about 6-7months to make Sunrise.
It ain’t supposed to be easy. Although I still think legendary weapons aren’t that legendary anymore.
They should have never been tradable to start with.
Legendaries are endgame items. You are not supposed to get them just for logging in.
Exactly. Too many people want to get legendary while doing non-legendary things… Those things exist to distinguish the people who do have the time and effort to put into the game. You don’t HAVE to have one to enjoy the game or have access to all of the content or even to be as competitive/viable in the game. The price of precursors on a free-trade market reflects what the players determine the precursors are worth. Throwing a temper tantrum, threatening to quit, saying they’re too expensive, won’t change the player base’s perception of the value.
Also… different people have different resources/abilities available to them. I have a friend who is in dental school and she was still able to make Eternity without having to convert any gems.
Legendaries are only for looks. The time and effort needed to make them now is nowhere around the same as before. Sucks to have to put all your time into one thing for weeks to get something that’s just a skin and provides no more damage than an ascended would. Nothing Legendary about Gw2 Legendaries. Plus you can buy them premade, which is a bust since people with money irl or no life can just 24/7 Gw2 or Convert money to gems. Blows. Might as well make all the account bound mats, IE clovers, buyable on TP too…Oh, and obsidian shards. Thanks.
Sounds like you need to run more dungeons, it’s easy to get a lot of gold then
I make 15-30 gold a day basically just running dungeons.
I figure in a few months I should be able to just buy my legendary if I wanted (i don’t they’re ugly!).

Nah not ugly…Just strange looking
Once the nerf hammer drops on champ bags, grinding for a legendary will be even more fun. I mean, if you have a productive social/work life, it’ll only take you about 5 months to get a legendary (considering that you play 3-4 hours most days). Twilight costs only about 2000+ gold? But why the trouble? You can just convert around $550 in a matter of minutes to get all the gold you need. If you work and make minimum wage on the federal level (depending on where you live), that’s equivalent to 76 hours of work. You’re saving over 400 hours of your life through this method.

Typical PvE attitude. In other game-modes it’s not so easy to make gold.
Well to bad for you then. If you want money go and get it and stop waiting for it to come to you.

Around 10 hours for me to buy a legendary with real money if I want. Besies:
‘social/work life’ and 3-4 hours a day playing aren’t compatible. If you have a social life and work you may play 2-5h per week. You can of course try hard and play during the night. But even then my girlfriend started worrying when I told her I play sometimes until 3 in the morning and have to get up at 8 for work (that was btw not only guild wars, several other games out there).
‘would of been’ —> wrong
In wvw the t6 drop is not that bad. Come and play!
Just the WvW
R3200+
Why people get mad about legendaries?
I play since beta and dont even have half the things to make one, i still won noobs in 1v4 in WvW with my stupid glyphic sword skin (7 badges of honor lol), and the most satisfying thing is that most of this guys have legendaries.
Owning guys with legendary weapons, that’s the end game for me.
I guess many players already collected every contents for a legendary but left alone a precursor, and finally the long time waiting turned into rage.
I personally will assume I don’t get any items by RNG, if RNG god look at me and bang, something valuable out of no where, it is a surprise. Otherwise, i will enjoy my game with or without a legendary.
All i can say is, take it easy dude.

They’re not just looks, when they added stat-swapping to them.
Now if they add stat swapping to say ascended. then I’ll agree with you.
