Legendaries getting easier to get?
When people like you say the game is too easy, it is your own fault. There are hard ways to get items, and easier ways to get items. You do the hard way if you want and don’t worry about what route the next guy takes. The problem is, YOU take the easy route instead of the hard route then complain it was too easy.
I hope it’s only about precursor and not the other things needed for legendary.
I would wager the requirements just lean more on the activities-to-acquire side than the chance-to acquire side.
The big complaint about legendaries is that they were more about chance than they were skill and dedication.
I’m sure they will still be prohibitively expensive for most players. Considering Anet it will be something like making a chance for pre-cursor or clovers drop from the chest at the end of the new dungeon once a day. The new tower style dungeon that gets harder as you progress and was designed to stick a shoe in the mouth of people complaining there was a lack of hard content.
Just because the ways you can get the parts needed might change, doesn’t mean those ways will be easy.

The other stuff needed to make a legendary takes effort but can be done if you work for it, no problem with having to farm the materials and karma etc.The only problem with the legendaries are the precursors themselves since it’s up to pure luck and they are so rare that a few people who got lucky or exploited now control the market. I hope they make getting them easier, since even with the precursor you’ll still need around 200g, a million karma and tons of materials so it’s not like they’ll become commonplace all of a sudden.
Im not a fan of the pre-cursors or the clovers. In the camp that there shouldn’t be a slot machine involved. Something like part of an item that replaces clovers being granted when you achieve Dungeon master, and the other part when you achieve Dungeon runner would be more appropriate. That would mean you have pretty much dominated PvE.
The majority of players would still need to work really hard just to get that requirement. And it would mean a lot of players would need to raise their, not just be lucky. Arah can be pretty humbling pretty fast.
I hope the changes are somewhere along those lines.

Not easier I dont think just more reliable. RNG is simply a bad way to obtain one of the most epic adventures in the game. It also gave the exploiters and gold buyers unlimited tries at getting a precursor where as everyone else was a huge 300 g gamble.
Clicking paypal or forge isnt legendary nor does it fill me satisfaction.
That is my hope
Tin Foil Hat: may be that they are going to hinder the the drops further in order to make more money from gems or keep people grinding till there is no tomorrow / flesh on your fingers.
I’m not bothered about the legendaries at all, as a thief who mainly plays P/P, D/D or shortbow:

Quip, shoots bubbles and makes a popping noise….erm, no thanks.
Incinerator, admittedly very cool….but I’d need two as I have OCD about having different looking weapons equipped. And that seems am altogether too long road to walk down.
The sword, Bolt, I think….I don’t like sword play style so not bothered.
The harpoon or spear? Why even bother? Going underwater is for fish.
the change is designed to remove the random element from the precursors which is the ONLY way to get them currently, be it world drop or MF.
so far he has promised the Legendaries will still remain rare, nobody wants Legendaries to be easy to obtain, we just want a way of obtaining them without playing with the Mystic Toilet.
It’d be cool if when you get a legendary you also unlock the pvp version of it as well for use in sPVP. oh yeah sweet !

That’s why I give up dungeons, cool-looking exotics gears and so many things to get one. And I don’t care how is the look of the trophy. I know you would say everyone can get one using Paypal, but majority of us legendary crafter got/is getting one because we have a superior plan. No, it is not that we farm more or we are luckier. It is because we research more, we save more and we give up more. If legendary/precursors can get from story line, everyone can get it. Then what is the point to craft an overpriced exotics? Don’t we have enough dungeon/mad king/mystic forge exotics for everyone?

I have to disagree on this Legendery means using the Mysic Toilet in hopes to get one that is based on a RNG system, or got to paypal buy the gold to help get mats faster to increase your crafting at record time and either make it or buy the mats for one to make it.

Except for that is total bull-kitten. I won’t take an credit away from the legit crafters or people that worked with their guilds and friends to make one, but they are not the “majority”
The majority of people with legendaries are the ones that exploited the karma mistake to promote items up to rares and exotics to either burn getting a precursor or to get the gold to buy one. Besides the people that jumped on that early, there wasn’t a follow through on the promise they made to get the ban lifted and people still converted all those items they were supposed to trash.
The majority of precursors in the TP are from RMTs and people running multiple bots. They convert gold to rares to precursors which they sell third party.
Removing the random components impacts the average player much less than it impacts those that have the income, by illegitimate needs, who brute force the odds.
They should still, and I am sure will, be extremely difficult/expensive to obtain. But there are game wide benefits to making components available other ways.

If so.. why not make them exotics with special names instead? Why do arenanet only and only listen to the casual people asking for everything to be easier and easier?
I hope it only gets -different- and not easier. As in storyline added… time consuming in quests and events instead of farming gold = TOTALLY COOL. Just make their materials cheaper/easier to drop = Not cool.
Just so you guys know there are people thinking legendaries should be rare instead of every grandma out there has one in a few months.

I work alone, never buy gold, am a bad gold earner and not smart enough to even know there is a karma exploit. I just run. And I am sure many are doing the same. Now if there is a shortcut, what is the point of having legendary in first place?
BTW there is always TP if you don’t like RNG, you only have to make money faster than others who want the precursor you want.
Precursors shouldn’t be the hardest/most expensive part of the legendary since it’s pure luck. 200-300+ gold for just 1 part is absurd.
I have no problem with the farming, really. Gathering stuff from all around the world, 500 marks, hundreds of karma, and such, there’s no problems with it.
But the precursor, which is just all about being really lucky, is pretty meh :/
The reason I’m not presently bothering with a legendary is the RNG. After several years of AION, I’m not playing that crap again.
I love ANet, but this is probably the one design choice (seriously) that annoys me enough to make me not bother with even trying.
If they make a way to get it without RNG (even if it takes a long time), I’m so there. But until then, yes, the weapons are flashy, but relying on luck to get is doesn’t feel like earning it, it feels like gambling. My household gambles in RL to help keep the bills paid, I don’t need more of that here!

Legendaries should be about the journey not about RNG.
they should just make a specific mystic forge recipe for each precursor weapon and make the materials something you can gather yourself, the materials themselves need to be account bound or it simply switches the problem over to the materials for making it becoming insanely expensive.
I just want them a little more attainable. The precursors are the real annoyance for me and the reason i don’t really want to work towards it. I don’t like the gamble of it all. I like to be able to see a goal and work towards it.
Either way, making it a little easier (not crazy easy) wouldn’t be a bad idea. Would keep the more casual players in game and probably sell more gems to keep the game going.
Legendary should be epic quests to get like they were in EQ. Man i remember those epic fights for my 1.0, my 1.5 and 2.0…. I was like kitten YEAH when i got it… this game i am like really.. money….. wtf…..

They could give them away like candy, I’d still not want to have one.
