I am very happy that Arena Net will keep what promise an making the new Legendarys.
So far they look very unique no comment for the Shooshadoo this is not a shield,
this is a project after the Sylvari weed take it’s effect to the graphic designers,
wen you seen it you wanna sing under the sea but anyways looks like a very nice backpack.
As player i really want to see an i hope in the future for a new Legendary Greatsword,
that can much the beauty an the design of Dawn an Twilight.
I really want you to try to create a Meteorite Greatsword or a Starfang sword a sword of a very rear material, one that come to the world of Tyria travel from the far space.
Gather a very rear meteorite ore as we play the upcoming storyline will be like the old days we craft mawdrey this brings memories.
Pleaz try to make it look as a sword an not like a paddle i got faith in the designers team Arenanet make something epic for as.

As far as the greatsword, I hope they release it soon rather than wait. It’s probably one of the more popular weapon types so would have greater appeal to players.

Each new legendary skin seem to be tied thematically so far to each new map. Whether that is the longer term goal I dont know.

Yes but a Greatsword made by rear meteorite or star metal will be epic to hunt an craft i hope they ad something to the story line well braham find the fire scroll an ad flame to the bow.

I agree a storyline would be good, but they have removed that aspect from forthcoming legendaries in order to be able to get them into the game. I believe someone found a pic of a large, bright golden greatsword which was speculated to be the legendary sword, but there has been no word since so it could easily be a red herring.

I suspect we could see a frost and flame legendary at some point. The bow seems prime, but they could intertwine it as the greatsword, either as a single weapon or one flame, one frost and one both in the same vein of Eternity.

While I’d love a grimdark themed greatsword, Anet is likely to make a light hearted one next. For the most part, Anet makes 1 light hearted or 1 not so light hearted (dreamer/chuka, moot/eureka, quip/hope, prophs/shooshadoo). I still have my hopes up for the sceptre though.

I disagree with your pattern assessment. For starters, the pattern you identified only accounts for 4 new legendary and six have been released, so you’re already only seeing 66%. Second, the pattern I’m seeing is 5/6 of the new legendaries have been “serious”.

The overwhelming majority of legendaries are “serious” (24/27).

We already have 3 “serious” or epic legendary great sword skins.
Next one will be a “joke” or “fun” skin.
I’d like to see maybe a great sword resembling an electric guitar. Something à la Gene Simmon’s axe bass. That would be really cool. Imagine those sounds and musical notes effects.

The other way to look at it is that all of the joke legendaries are on some of the least popular weapons across all classes, and greatswords are probably the 2nd most popular weapon (next to sword I’m guessing?). I am predicting a serious 4th greatsword.

Ah well, perspective I guess, personally consider every single legendary to be a joke weapon. And just to offer an alternative, what about those of us that has been looking for a decent REALISTIC skin ? I’d love to see a realistic Longsword skin for the next legenday, perhaps that would even make me consider getting my first legendary ?

Granted, it would be hard to already top the existing Steel/Darksteel Greatsword skin for that.

That’s because those 5 new legendaries were the “serious” skins to compliment the jokey/light hearted current ones. And I missed out Bifrost/Nevermore. Astaralia is the only odd one out so far.

Id consider the existing legy great swords as rather joke. They look like giant paintbrushes, dunno whats supposed to be epic about that?

Well, the trend seems to be that we get one “silly” legendary of each type and one “serious” (like the flameseeker prophecies and shooshadoo, or the pistols etc).

Considering that we have not one, but two and a half “serious” greatswords, then its highly likely that our next greatsword will be silly.

I don’t mind, myself. We already have a lot more options as greatsword users, and a silly one may be a welcome option.

I dunno i’m still a fan of the three skritt in a trenchcoat greatsword idea.

Tyria knows we need less Twilights/Sunrises.

I would rather see a new Sword, Dagger, or Longbow before a Great sword especially since the Greats swords have 3 different skins already.
