I’m sure everyone and their grandma knows about the bandwagon that is cof. How good the money is, how fast the runs is, but here’s the thing, it hasn’t been nerfed.

Now, in Cursed Shore, you got your temple fights and you got your pen/shelter. You HAD beach farming but it got nerfed last patch which baffles me. We had Plinx.. Beach farming which only really gave drops and heavy moldy bags got nerfed, but CoF is standing strong.

Currently the only real ways to make money is dungeons, wvw(drops accordingly), CoF p1, and Cursed Shore. Then you got the 2 misfits that sit in that new 80 zone killing karka. You got the major boss events that you get 1 rare from. You had jumping puzzle chests in eb that was worth it, but it got nerfed too!(Who would have guessed)

So, from what I understand, CoF is where everyone is going to go. For thos with a legendary, and didn’t jump on the CoF bandwagon, how did you get your legendary? Better yet, I’d love to know how a dev got theirs’.

My 7 month grind for Bolt still hasnt happened, and the mystic toilet hasn’t given me an exotic in the last 43 times I’ve thrown something in. Maybe its me, but this seems ridiculous.(lolrng right? no. It’s dumb) I’ve been doing more WvW since I’ve heard a lot of people got their precursor from there, but knowing how nerfs go, I say it wont be long until they wont drop there either.

Everyone is awaiting the long awaited precursor scavenger hunt. GG. Still isn’t here. I’ve considered quitting because I hate this nonstop grind that is a legendary. I’ve got friends with 5-6 legendaries, and they just say lol rng. I understand the, " Its a legendary, it should take awhile to make…" well 7 months later… nothing.

Thought it was funny, all these new events that is supposed to have a way better chance at precursors. Even that Karka event that everyone was getting them out of, Everyone showing off what they got and I’m sitting here with a Blue Rifle from the chest.

I understand they don’t want us to farm, but honestly, how else are you going to get all the stuff? Pen and Shelter? Doing that over and over is still farming it. Whats even more funny is they introduced the whole Diminishing Returns deal just so you cant stay in Cursed Shore and kill Risen for drops. If I wanna kill zombies til my eyes bleed that should be my choice and I shouldn’t have less chance at getting a rare drop(Rare drop?! They still exist?!)

Gold-sinks that is the trading post. WHATS THE POINT? A tax on something you earned, something that the rng gods gave you, but you gotta pay to sell it. Why isnt trading here? You cant trust Curious George to send you the stuff in the mail and you just loose your money/items, and when you go to tell a dev they say, “lol you sent them a generous gift, you can’t get it back.”(referring to the guy on the forums that scammed so many precursors.)

Precursors shouldn’t have been drops, should have been from a vendor in the 1st place.

TL;DR: 1. Whats the point in nerfing a farm of less value and keeping the Omega Birtha farm that everyone does. 2. What was your method of getting a legendary? 3. Why is there no trade button. 4. Some of this is ranting so I understand you didn’t read it all.

If this game is only about a legendary to you…play another game. I got my legendary today but I didn’t focus on getting it. I did what I enjoyed and got what I got when I got it. I was massively lucky, though, My precusor dropped for me.

But I know for a fact, if I played this game with the intent of getting a legendary, if that’s what was important to me, I’d have left already.

it’s grind only if you choose it to be

if some people are obsessed with hoarding gold then i can just pity them

it might sound akward, but most people come to gw2 to play

kill all ze thingz

Gold sinks exist the maintain the value of Gold.
The less value Gold holds the more you need to afford anything.
Sinks = Good.
Also Mystic Forge = massive item sink for unwanted items.

Trading was left out of GW2 intentionally to promote the use of the Trading Post.
If people traded 1-to-1 all the time it would make stopping Gold Farmers much harder.
Also dealing with the constant scam complaints is a huge waste of time of everyone else’s time.

Mail allows you to send items because without it it’d be very hard to give rewards for player-held events or give someone a gift.
It is absolutely not intended for trading with strangers, even though some use it for that.

As for the lack of farming spots I agree.
There needs to be more viable ways to make Gold by killing things than farming CoF or Orr all day long.
For example if Southsun Cove had more dynamic events with swarms of enemies and loot worth the extra difficulty you’d see way more people in there.

Makes me laugh how most the threads about Legendaries QQ about precursors.

Don’t like RNG? Don’t gamble, just buy them from the TP – that’s what I did for both of mine and don’t regret it one bit.

As for COF, I agree it is definitely due a nerf. If a complete overhaul of the path is not an option here are some possibilities that I can see being changed:

  • Increasing the health of the Slave Driver by a large margin, causing many brainless speedfarmers to wipe.
  • Make the bridge event compulsory and required to be completed before a gate at the end (where the two turrets are currently) opens.
  • Removal of the “safespots” at the acolyte section, while possibly reducing the number of other flame legion that spawn to compensate (before I discovered the safespots, kiting the mobs was incredibly difficult).
  • Using a portal while carrying a flame boulder causes the player to drop the boulder.

This would still allow it to be farmable to a lesser extent, but put a lot of the brainless speedfarmers in a sticky situation reducing it’s effectiveness.

All that said, they’d just move onto HOTW 1 then.

Legendary weapons are not “lolrng”. I have never been “lucky” with drops, and get exotics very rarely. I have only ever had one drop worth over 10g, which is the Molten Firestorm mini (which I haven’t sold, so that’s irrelevent anyway). My next best drop was Super Sword (8g at the time) and Deathwish (6g at the time). The rare time I get exotics, they have all been worth a lot less than those 3 items, I tend to get ones worth about 1g.

Don’t come crying about RNG when it clearly isn’t necessary. Wanna know how people get 6-7 Legendaries? They manipulate the TP or buy gold. RNG has very little to do with it.

If you don’t like the grind – don’t do it! Nothing is forcing you to. They don’t give a statistical advantage for a reason.

Pfff! CoF is too mainstream. I run HotW and CoF. Sometimes TA.
