The legendary longbow “Kudzu” (bow that shoots flowers) is lame. I was really excited about crafting a legendary weapon until I saw what it looks like and what it does. A bow that looks like a plant with flowers, that shoots flowers? Maybe fine for some but definitely not all. You offer 3 greatswords but only one lame longbow. This is a real bummer.

So I am not going crazy afterall.

But yeah. Yet another legendary that looks like a prank stealth insert that was signed off on and approved into release.

Apparently, legendary in Tyria means that you suddenly turn into an excerpt from Dragonball Z, My Little Pony or from the school of the ‘if its on fire, it’s epic’ train of thought.

Even the surfboards …I mean, greatswords… Look like they belong in something more like Sailor Moon than elsewhere.

Most of the legendary are butt ugly, people only wear them to show accomplishment, I personally skin’d over my sunrise for a foefire’s essence since a sword dripping liquid makes no sense to me.

Actually, I really like it. It’s perhaps one of my favorite legendaries. I mean, come on, everywhere you walk turns green, and you shoot GOLDEN arrows!

Maybe if you grew up with Grass Pokemon and Bulbasaur as your starter, you would feel different. But this is my favorite legendary.

Not a flavor I even vaguely enjoy, personally.

What I’d do for a more elegant/realistic looking GS. Bonetti’s rapier is amazing, I want something along those lines but GS. Just have to take the Mithril one and touch up the hilt, maybe have a more elaborate texture on the blade, and golden.

Only complaint I have with Kudzu is the bow string. They need to update it.

Wouldn’t be a Legendary though. A weapon isn’t Legendary unless it is capable of producing mouth foaming irritation in some people.

Different strokes for different folks. I for one find the legendary longbow and shortbow to be couple of my favourite legendaries in this game.

i think the problem is longbow and shortbow legendary are too feminine. On the other hand, sunrise, twilight are quite generic and fit both male and female character.

Nothing wrong with the Kudzu, but I do agree more variety of leges are needed.
Although there are a lot of nice skins that are ALMOST as high quality and unique animations that look really great that you can consider.

Personally the only leges that I like the look of AND would use. (Some look nice but thematically I would never use them)

The lege swords are hideously immersion breaking for me, especially with so many running around.

If you think the flowers are bad, you should hear the birds chirping each time you shoot it.
I giggle every time somebody who actually has their sound high enough notices it and goes “wtf”

I don’t mind the legendaries that much, Kudzu goes horrible with the look of my Ranger (Charr, dark fur, with dark red markings, bony arah armor) but somehow, i like it.
The look of it wasn’t a consideration when I made it, i wanted BiS, something that would always be the best, and I got it. (Made it pre-ascended weps)

What I don’t like about a few of the “omg leggies suck I want real weapons” folks is that they are the gw2 equivalent of a crazed vegan activist. They walk up to you quietly talking about meat/leggies you want to do and they’re like… you know what I mean. I’m sure everyone knows at least one person like that. Thankfully they aren’t the majority…

Normally, I’d apologise for the small rant, but since there’s no way to satisfy everyone and there’s no way in HELL they’re ever gonna make enough leggies to please every player – and since this thread about opinions, so as pointless and as unconstructive as you can get… I no cares. My opinion is that people are annoying and they should leave me and my leggies alone. I’m blessed by the ability to like them a lot, you don’t, so yeah. Tough. They’ll make new leggies in the future, surely.
As a kid, I wanted to be a gardener (and a painter, to paint flowers while sitting in my beautiful garden, surrounded by cats), so I guess it explains my intense love for the greatswords and the longbow.
Who wouldn’t want to pour the sky on the floor wherever they go? heaven on earth? A window on the universe? Yes please.
Oh, I also had the “dragonrider” phase, which… well, ok, I’m still in that phase. That one explains Bolt and Rodgort! Haha.
I also like wolves, but not as much as vampires.
The shield is a real piece of art too, it looks crazy good and OHMYGOD GW1 PROPHECIES (dem memories of that game!), but I’m broke and I ran out of gifts. Sob.

In short: I don’t like people. I like leggies. I wish people would love my love for my leggies.

There wouldn’t be a big deal about having legendaries like this if there were enough of each weapon type. If your main weapon is a long bow, then you’re very very limited in your selection.

I got the dreamer (the unicorn shooting short bow) because there’s very little more trolly than finishing someone in WvW or PvP by shooting them with a unicorn.

But for a lot of people, it’s just not what they’re looking for in a legendary weapon. And there’s no other bow to choose from.

I like Kudzu but it could get use an update. I honestly dont see how anyone likes the shortbow though. The shiny unicorns is just ridiculous. I know people like it but I just dont get it. Especially since the shortbow is mostly used by stealthy thieves… I just… I dont understand.

I can imagine that the average adolescent gamer doesn’t like weapons like Kudzu. They want to have black kitten crap (usually human male warrior). If you grow up and aren’t anymore wet behind your ears you may appreciate it.

They had plans on creating a new set of legendaries a while ago. I’m assuming when they come out, they’ll also be obtained much differently and implement the scavenger hunt/questing/crafting system they’ve mentioned. Hints of the scavenger hunt/quest was actually added to the game quite a while ago.

With hints of an expansion coming, it makes sense why certain things they’ve been mentioning all along have never appeared. If anything close to an expansion is revealed next week, new legendaries are likely to come. Don’t expect it to be released for another 6 months however, 2 minimum.

I got no prob with a Kudzu if I roll me a sylvari or even human ranger. But since I am charr, I’d probably get that anyway and shift the skin to a Mordrem one.

Or you might think its as tacky and shoved-in on the rest of the game’s artstyle as would be a CGI animated Papa Smurf running around in the game.

The legendary weapons just kinda…do whatever, and that ‘whatever’ is more typically so bizarrely in abandonment of the rest of the game’s style that I find it to be downright garish and terribly displeasing.

Well It fits my sylvari perfectly And I think it’s one of the more beautiful legendaries.
I guess some people like A and some like B (and not to forget the rest of the alphabets).

Luckily we are all different people, If we ’d all be the same and had the same preferences making a game would be easy. 1 character with 1 profession, playing 1 map. As everybody wants the same, perfect game.

I hate the gs’s, the moot, bifrost, frostfang, dreamer, quip, however: ‘hey let’s change all of them’ is a slap in the face of the people who liked them and put in so much effort to get them.
Well I do like predator, bolt, howler,the flame phrophecies, the spear (though i do not want to bother with an underwater weapon…) i have the meteorologicus as well.

Life is all about choices I guess…

actually i also want pistols to be bigger and more visible. they are just lame right now. not cool. only some pieces are real pistols.

why not theme every legendary to be universe/infinity whatever…

The distance was kinda a big thing for me, as I really liked the sling shot.

But at the end of the day, I went GS + Sword/Horn with the ‘occasional’ swapping in of the long bow for the great sword if it’s a place it’s just safer to stand around and pluck from a distance, so really not so much for me now.

Always thought it would have been nice to keep the SB 1200 and go bigger with the LB, rather than reducing SB to 900.

But you are right, other than distance, it wasn’t a big change.

But what would be awesome is if we could use SB/LB skins interchangeably.

In all respect “you” find that Kudzu is lame. That being said I also find it lame.
The real problem is that there is only one legendary of each kind.

Leaf of Kudzu is the only precursor that I’ve ever gotten from the forge, so I made a female Sylvari so that it fits the character’s theme when I finally finish the darn thing (only 538 T6 materials to go!).
