4. Green Blanco Orb- 10 Beryl Orbs and 10 Azurite Orbs (recipe added to upgrade crystals to orbs)

4. Precursor- Prismatic Coil 12345678
I can see this item being a combination of several exotic rings that are each a reward for completing the story achievements of the next LS episode:
Red Coil 1- Zerker stats
Orange Coil 2- Carrion stats
Yellow Coil 3- Assassin stats
Green Coil 4- Knight stats
Blue Coil 5- Shaman stats
Purple Coil 6- Celestial stats
White Coil 7- Cleric stats
Black Coil 8- Rabid stats

each of the rings can be combined with the others to create the Prismatic Coil which is the a combination of 2 or more of the above rings (each of them will have a double click to combine with another ring function). When combined, 2 rings will create the Prismatic Coil and they will keep the number from their name (EX, Red and Blue coils will combine to make the Prismatic Coil 15). all 8 need to be combined to make the Prismatic Coil 12345678. This ring will also be able to switch to the stats of the rings that have been added (EX PC 15 could have zerk or shaman stats)
These coils will have to be added to a new zone vendor so that they can be reobtained (they will be locked until the acheivements are complete)

I’ll answer some questions before they are asked:
Why no gift of mastery? there are only 2 gifts of exploration per character, so until more are added, characters could be locked to only 2 legendary items
Why jewelcrafting? rings require jewelcrafting, therefore, a legendary ring should rely on it somewhat

Thats my idea. Thoughts?

Im a bit confused;

1- What purose do they add. What are they giving that an ascended doesn’t already, bearing in mind it can’t give better stats or else risk a stat grind, which is regarded as something players don’t want.

2 – Why does only 2 Gifts of Exploration per character matter? Those who want multiples, just get more on new toons since Legendaries and gifts are account bound

Ascended items are locked into the stats obtain for them, while Legendaries are flexible. That is one plus. However, what will be the cosmetic difference? No one will know you have it, unless you ping it, so there’s got to be some sort of reason (other than stat flexibility) to obtain one. Otherwise, I’d just use laurels and guild commendations to get my new stats.

1. Legendary weapons allow you to change stats any time you arent in combat. This alone would make it better than ascended.

2. It’s more of a lore thing for me (1 character should be able to equip themselves with whatever they want as opposed to relying on other characters) sometimes it is easier to do something on another char (ex. farming T1-5 mats) than it is to do on one, but making it so that you have to create another char forces someone who only uses 1 char to use a different character. (personal preference basicly). If they added gifts of exploration to the laurel merchant (only available to chars that have explored the world) then i would be ok with gifts of mastery

they recently added refractors which turned your character a specific color. they could do this, or add a glowing ball of light that follows your character (so more legendary trinkets could be added)

It’s a lot of effort jus to change stats though, especially as one jewellery items stats wont affect very much. I suspect it would be quicker just to buy the ascended version from the laurel vendor than accumulate the mats.

People would need a real incentive to go for this. A colour change is one idea, but I’m not sure it’s anywhere near enough to warrant the work involved.

I’d rather see Legendary jewellery added as the items crafted by level 500 jewelers. There’s no point in crafting Ascended jewellery, as it’s already really easy to get hold of.

If level 500 jewellery crafting was all stat-switchable Legendary grade items, then you could base the various laurel recipes around a selection of effects and colours rather than stats.

its not that far from the difference between ascended and legendary weapons though. I think you are underestimating the amount of people that would go for such a thing.

i guess ill give you an actual answer as opposed to the “why not” above with the assumption (since it isnt stated) that the proposal is in question

1. people are requesting that jewelcrafting be raised to 500
2. there needs to be a sink for ascended mats (bloodstone, empyreal, dragonite)
3. This legendary proposal has a non RNG precursor (people hate RNG)
4. It gives “most” people a long term goal to work toward (that would exclude the people that would rush to get it in like a week)

I always loved the idea of an Legendary Amulet (not rings). Why? Because amulet is unique, while you have 2 rings. The amulet should give you an effect. Like birds following you or dark cloud around you, or making you armor shiny or stuff like that.

Now if you want legendary rings (and accessories), they can’t really have an effect, or then you gonna have way too much stuff going on at the screen. If they are only there for the stats swapping capability, they should cost that much.

I would really like to see statistics about how often people change the stats on their legendarys.

Personally i have done it not even once on any of my 3 legendarys.

EVERY MMO is awesome until it is released then its unfinished. A month after release it just sucks.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.

I guess the question that needs to be answered is why do people build legendary weapons when ascended is just as good?

I then need to take that answer and apply it somehow to my idea, so i guess ill continue with this. For those of you with legendaries, why did you make a legendary when ascended can serve the same purpose?

I would really like to see statistics about how often people change the stats on their legendarys.

Personally i have done it not even once on any of my 3 legendarys.

I have 2 legendaries and I almost never change the stats, because I cant make it work in other build without changing the sigils. For example my bifrost is zerker with pve sigils, I had to craft 1 ascended for wvw because I wanted different stats. Make a legendary is 99% because of the skin. The ability to change stats is almost useless without the ability to change the sigils.

Legendary weapons are about the social primarily, with account bound and stat swapping an extra bonus (after all, one item stat change has no real gameplay effect)

I can’t see Legendary jewellery working individually since they cant’t offer anything that wouldnt be too busy aesthetically if you had a full set.

However, like the old pvp trinkets, you could have one all encompassing trinket which covers the stats for all the jewellery slots and gives some kind of sparkly effect or other enhancement. That might be more feasible and then fit what you propose.

I am making an The Predator just for the cool effects. I think legendary jewelry is a completely acceptable idea. And to give people that extra incentive, just give it an effect that can be activated on demand out of combat with a cd, much like how /rank currently functions. People just want to be able to show off, this gives them the chance to show off, and it may even add a little more possibilities to people’s role play.

To break this down even more, you could make it a special /emote that activates the effect of the legendary jewelry. This effect could be somewhat incomplete and grow as players collect more of a full set of legendary jewelry. Allowing players to show off how much they grind even more.

ascended weapons are cheap to craft, especially if you farm most of the mats (which incidently doesnt take that long since most of them can be gathered).

I think there should be legendary trinkets and armor before they release any new legendary weapons.
