Ok so I was looking to craft a one of these weapons at SOME point(still a long way away). But I just wanted to know if you will be able to trade these weapons between characters on the same account?

The reason I ask this is because I have so far mapped 60% of the world on my Asura necro but weapons on an Asura are so small I can barely see them, and I kinda feel it would be wasted. Plus the fact that I want the twilight great sword for a warrior I plan on making at some point but I don’t want to have to start all over again with the mapping and so on.

So would I be able to craft the great sword on my necro and then give it to my warrior? Do I have to start all over again?

I would think these types of weapons would be Soulbound on acquire. I would hope they were at the least. That’s just my hope, I don’t know for sure, and I don’t think anyone else does except ANet

I’m fairly certain the answer is no to trading your weapon. However, the gifts you earn, like the gift of exploration, are account bound, so you will be able to use it on another character.

Predator:

1 x The Hunter of Rage (Exotic weapon)
1 x Bloodstone (200 Skill Points)
250 x Obsidian Shards (525,000 Karma)
1 x Gift of Exploration (100% map completion)
1 x Gift of Battle (500 WvWvW tokens)
77 x Mystic Clovers (RNG expensive Mystic Forge P2W kitten)
100 x Icy Runestones (1 gold each)
1 x Superior Sigil of Force
250 x Globs of Ectoplasm
[1 x Gift of Might;
250 x Vials of Powerful Blood
250 x Powerful Venom Sacs
250 x Elaborate Totems
250 x Piles of Crystalline Dust]
[1 x Gift of Magic;
250 x Vicious Fangs
250 x Armored Scales
250 x Vicious Claws
250 x Ancient Bones]
[1 x Gift of Wood;
250 x Elder Wood Planks
250 x Seasoned Wood Planks
250 x Ancient Wood Planks
250 x Hard Wood Planks]
[1 x Gift of Stealth;
250 x Orchalcum Ingots
250 x Orian Truffles
100 x Onyx Lodestones
1 x Gift of Knowledge (500 Crucible of Eternity Tokens)]

I gave up trying to calculate the gold price. But you’re way off the mark with even 100g. Even those Icy Runestones make up that total themselves.

He asked if he can for example trade one of the gifts from one character to another (through the bank) and you jump out with some usless junk information.

@OP: It depends, you can transfer the smaller parts like dusts for specific gift but I don’t think you can trade the gift itself (it’s easy to check, just talk to a vendor and see if it’s soulbound or account bound). I’m pretty sure you won’t be able to do it with some parts, so yo u can’t aquire everything on one character and just “trade it” to next.

Well hold on, has any confirmed Gifts of exploration are Soulbound and not account-bound? If so then you could probably complete the map on your necro and send it to whomever on your account you choose.

However you may wish to do the final part of crafting it on the character you want it to be on because I’m not sure if legendaries are soulbound upon crafting.

Can we get a confirmation on that last part, Arenanet?

I think the intention is that the character for whom the weapon is intended actually crafts the weapon. Not necessarily all the components, etc., but the legendaries are supposed to be a benefit of learning a craft.

Riddle me this. What is the point of implementing a great and in-depth crafting system like what we have, second only to that of EVE’s, simply to have everyone have to be a Weaponsmith anyway?

Why did they let players choose to be armorsmiths and tailors, only to have everyone become a 400 Weaponsmith?

It makes no sense. Unless they are to be only made by players who have 5000 hours sunk in the game grinding enough materials to afford the gold to have one, and level all of the crafting professions to 400 anyway.

Ok, I see what you’re saying… but… you can level two trades and have them active simultaneously. You can drop one or both of those trades for a nominal fee and not lose your progression in that trade and pick up a third and/or fourth one and level them as well, and so on. And quickly, it seems.

There are, no doubt, many players who will gather or buy mats to level every crafting trade to max. That’s what people do in these games, y’know.

Because some people would lose an argument in discussion “I’m level 80 what now?”. If you throw out purpose for doing weaponsmith as an elementalist, that’s a serious strike. Because now they can say – do all the professions because you’ll need them (even if you have no intention in making legendary item), if there is no reason for me to do weaponsmith, well that’s one less so interesting things to do at level 80. Busy work is always the best.

Need some help guys, again So I have my gift for mapping and my gift of battle, but I am having issues with the gift of fortune. Like I have explained I want to craft my legendary on my warrior but it’s only level 15 right now and have been farming most of the material required on my necro. Currently I have 213 skill points on my necro and have learned that the bloodstone is soul bound and I believe the mystic clovers are also soul bound. Does this mean I have get all the skill points on my warrior? Or can I make the gift of fortunes on my necro and give it to my warrior? Because I thought gifts are account bound.
