Legendary Weapons
Well the longbow tends to fit very well into sylvari lore IMHO… nice and planty and it seems perfectly adapted to any sylvari, male or female. I doubt however if it would fit the dark warrior concept, but then again, there’s Twilight for lovers of the dark.
I think the legendaries fit a character or you need to look on…
The screaming unicorns feels nightmarish if you consider it.
Even though some find the colors deafening and the unicorns resembling my little pony.
Been There, Done That & Will do it again…except maybe world completion.
Yeah twilight, eternity etc i have those but there is no bow option that doesn’t seem set for a girl. Even for Sylvari, just because they are plant based doesn’t mean that flowers make the males look less feminine. There should either be neutral gender legendarys or one of each for each gender imo
indeed, absolutely agree, we should be able to mf the dreamer and kudzu, like twilight and sunrise. this would give you a medium bow (just like select stats u could set it as short or longbow, whatever you need) called eros, a white feathery bow that shoots pink hearts and everytime you shoot it makes some kissing noise. footprints could be 2 loving birds that fly away together.

Awesome idea, want it! Perfect for my wedding attire char that has the love glider and these roses. I hope the legendary armor (from raids) will have as a main feature some hearts flowing around it (like winter’s presence vor nightfury).

Don’t like them? Don’t make them.
Saying unicorns, rainbows and flowers are for girls and requesting that all legendaries should be gender neutral or something for both genders is an interesting topic of discussion. One I fear would be something that can ever tastefully be discussed.
The gender bias towards these legendaries are yours. And you’re allowed to have them. Though one would argue it’s societies bias that has influenced you. Let’s change the dreamers Unicorn theme to a Pegasus theme? Is it still girly? I’ll assume yes for now. Pegasus was a gift to Hercules by Zeus, man to a man. Yet modern society does label Pegasus imagery as ‘girly’.
I understand where you’re coming from. You don’t want to have your manly, Bearded, Norn (assumptions!) With a Unicorn (Rain)bow. You have plenty of skins to choose from to keep up with your manly image. You don’t need to have a Legendary.
Either way.. Don’t fret. More legendaries are incoming! I’m sure they won’t stick with the same theme.
You mean a draconic compound bow that shoot flaming arrows?
I’d like legendary weapons that are legendary in the same sense as Excalibur or Durendal are legendary.
Not legendary weapons that are legendary in the same sense as Carrot Top, Liberace and Elton John’s collection of spectacles are legendary.
Nothing wrong with Kudzu, but with Dreamer yes. I generally get that there is and probably even should be these gag weapons in the game, but why must they be legendaries? Of course talking about Moot and Quip in addition to Dreamer here. I know it cannot be affected at this point but generally it was a horrible design choice to make them legendaries and not, I don’t know, excessively expensive Mystic Forge weapons.
I guess we can just hope and pray that the devs have made the rest of the new legendaries atleast somewhat believable and not something I’d expect to find in my 3-year-old nieces’ room.
But you are using a bow.
Real man don’t hide behind things shooting bow at people.

I feel you underestimate the strength and skill needed to accurately use a Bow.

I find that a really strange sentiment to apply to activities in video games, considering that the activity in and of itself is grounded in sitting behind a keyboard, not doing anything remotely related to being “a real man”.

Dont’ take much strength to press tab and 1 and 2.

Funny thing. I’m a dude that only plays male characters. My wife LOVED Rainbow Brite when she was a kid and of course those cartoons are on Youtube.
Well, when they came out with the rainbow unicorn finisher, I thought it was HILARIOUS! You can kill someone by jamming a RAINBOW UNICORN up their backside. I don’t see why people don’t think this is funnier (probably I’m just a bit unique).
Well, I made a male Norn druid and named him “Rain Bowbright” and his pet Twink (it’s a thing – I’m just doing this because I’m going with the theme). I’m working on the Dreamer and the Bifrost. Totally going to be a Rainbow Unicorn druid. LOL.
Ok, that was over-sharing. Apologies.
What needs to happen is multiple skins implemented for each legendary and the PLAYER allowed to choose from a set of 3-5 skins. This would not only make it worthwhile to have more than one of each type of legendary but also give the players the feeling of personal achievement with the creation of their legendary weapon. Let the players build their legendary instead of being pigeonholed into accepting what someone on the development team thinks looks “cool”. Personal aesthetics are relative.
Another option would be 3-5 different pieces that make up the weapon.
EXAMPLE- Greatsword, 3-5 options for blade, blade guard, hilt. The player then chooses and builds the weapon the way they want, tt least to some extent. Much more than the doppleganger system in place now. This would allow the players again, to customize the weapon to THEIR specifications and not be completely at the mercy of someone elses’ sense of aesthetic.

well you say it like its a fact but its just personal preference. i myself have a dreamer, back then after release i was even the first to craft it on my server, totally knew what i was getting (at that time the dreamer effects have been way less, no footprints, no rainbowtail and the arrows have only been unicorn heads not full unicorns) and i actually really wanted that. till now i dont regret getting it, not a single moment.
and im no girl, nor am i 3 years old, im now actually a 37yr old guy but i guess i just got a good portion of humour ;)
so yeah, i like it and its great its a legendary. not like i want all weapons to be like that but it wudnt hurt to have one or two more. and dont even get the idea to “nerf”/change my beloved rainbowpony-shooter ;)
