I was thinking of cool things that I would like to see in the game and I thought of a lottery but a big one where you buy a ticket at a price i don’t know like 1g and then you wait to the drawing and the prize being a legendary weapon. Now this wouldn’t be a weakly thing just every once and awhile as something so look forward to. What do you guys think?

Not a legendary weapon. Nope.

If you want to have some kind of Lotto with gold, I think that’s more palatable.

Our guild does lotteries all the time
People buy a ticket for 50s, and can buy as many as they want. At the end, a ticket is drawn and the winner gets 50% of the gold, while the other half goes to guild to buy upgrades for the guild (commander tags, etc.).

I see where you are coming from but what would be the purpose of players entering by spending gold? Generally the purpose of a lottery is to raise money. Since gold is fictional money sending it to some digital bank (just deleted) really has no meaning other than to take 1 gold from everyone that entered.

Now if Anet said something like enter our lottery and for every ‘X’ amount of gold raised they will donate ‘X’ amount of real money to a charity then that would have some meaning. Sure the gold is still fake but it would be a symbolic way of players showing support for Anet’s support of a charity.

Of course they could easily do something for charity with gem store content and that would be pretty cool. You could have your own, “I gave to charity” cowboy mini haha :P

I don’t know if it would sit well with the game’s ESRB rating. Depicting real-life gambling (not talking about RNG items) is questionable. I kind of wish the game had a mature/18+ rating so that maybe we could have in-game casino huts or tavern poker matches.

Anet run and the purpose would be to just give a chance for some one to get a legendary who would probably never be able to get one other ways.

Sounds like a very fun idea and rather depressing at the same time. This game has becoming so difficult to obtain anything in a reasonable amount of time that people are resorting to such measure. What ever happen to the guild wars that we all enjoyed so much at launch.

You can already do that with the forge. Throw ur money away and u might get precursor.

Sure but it is one form of lottery already. Hell, the whole game is a kitten lottery.

There are already enough lotteries in the game. We don’t need more RNG determining who gets to win the cool skins.

Yeah this would be my only chance to get a legendary I neither have the time or money to make one and i know I’m not alone on this.

I wish they had lotteries in this game. If they had a mobile app they could have made a daily lottery with that.

I miss lotteries like the ones from LOTRO and Rift. Lotro had one that was daily that was a drawing that gave you gear currency, rare crafting mats, and the possibility of a mount. Rift had one built into it’s mobile app that gave currencies for gear, rare crafting materials.

If they had one on here I would hope it had the chance for dropping lodestones and for dropping exotics but legendaries would be nice too.

It would be a nice thing in the game to help some people out with things.
