Am I the only one getting below 1 Kb/sec on downloading the ‘new build’ 12/9/15?

I have seen things go slower when everyone is updating but never this slow. I tried to restart the client and the speed got even slower…

Just wondering if it’s only me.

It’s not just you. Going extremely slow here as well. And I did the same thing, restarted and it got slower.. lol

I am up to 2Kb/sec Woohoo. I think this is just the 14mb~ client update before it downloads the other one. Honestly I really have no clue what i am talking about. Okay off to troll elsewhere thanks for the response!

At this rate my client will have updated in time for the next expansion.

2 KB/sec here (just had a short spike to 3 KB/sec, woo!). I thought I’d nab the patch fast before bed time. Now my cat is asking where’s her dinner, why am I still sitting at that silly computer thing when there’s cans needing opening downstairs … (I hate to leave a patch unattended, way too many times I’ve left the machine going for some download only to return and find it’s popped up a “click here to continue” and I’ve wasted a lot of time by not being there to click it. I don’t think GW2 has ever done that, but habits, habits).

Just passed the 5,000 mark on my end as I’m typing this. Should I just try downloading this tomorrow?

I’m getting 1kb on the 64bit client, the 32bit was normal.

im not even at 1 lol. at 0kb/s nut it is going up slowly downloaded 565kbs so far. slowest download ive witnessed since i had dialup back in the day possible slower

It’s just the 64bit client that is having this issue. 32bit client downloads the patch no problem.

Sadly, even after patching with the 32bit client, the 64bit client still wants to patch.

Yes, 64-bit client has to patch in order to run. So start downloading and then go take care of real life for an hour or so.

yep the normal one works, just the 64bit thats slow.

Oh Thanks for the information. I will try the 32bit client again for awhile. I have not played 32bit client since 64bit was released, lots to dl I fear. Yes, it’s already dling at 1mb sec.

I was getting 2 KB/sec download. I switched to the 32-bit client and updated in under 5 seconds.

I got out of the shower and made the mistake of closing the client thinking it would clear on restart. 1KB/s ;-(

just did 32bit, yes it works, I couldn’t go back into the 64bit cause it wanted to patch something again at 1KB/sec though.

Yeah, if you’re using the 64-bit, you can hang it up for the night.

The actual client’s themselves need to update unfortunately. Sure the 32-bit downloads the patch immediately, but if you try to run the 64-bit client it still needs to download the client update part…which is barely working. So people can choose from either running the 32-bit client and crashing constantly, or waiting hours for the 64-bit client to finish downloading.

ok I cancelled my 32bit download because that patch seems ridiculously large. what is it and why is it so huge?

I switched to the 32-bit client to download the patch (very quickly) instead, only to find when I switched to the 64-bit client, it wanted to re-download the patch again at 2kb…

Why can’t downloads/patches affect both clients?

LOL! Mine says “0 KB/s”…. switched to 32 bit, downloaded the patch, back to 64 it’s redownloading (but I’m assuming it’s downloading the client update if there is one? Not the data files?)

Hmmmm, I downloaded it so fast I didn’t see how big it was and my connection is the data connection thru the phone. It’s usually not all that fast.

4 max. Bug bug bugs, releasing items with wrong stats, slow updates etc. This is really starting to become annoying.

Anet official response on reddit: “We are aware of the patching issues with the 64 bit client and are working on it. For now, the 32 bit client is able to be patched.”

How to switch back 32bit client? I’ve deleted mine since the 64bit released. It’s a pain to watching 2kb/s for downloading the patch.

Alright thats it i’m using the 32-bit for a while.. I’ll DL the 64-bit tommorow.

I’m at well over an hour and over 27500KB and still going.
