Let me guess....
I am sure people would love to have a unique cosmetic item locked behind something that will be impossible for some people.

I think most people do the clock tower either for the challenge or to farm ToT bags. Anything that comes out of the chest is a bonus.
Although IMO a free account bound exotic is pretty nice. Especially one where you can pick the stats. Admittedly mine from last year is still sitting in my bank, waiting for my guardian to get to level 80, but when she does it’s going to come in useful. If nothing else it saves me a chunk of karma.

Not sure if you’re sarcastic or not, but yes. I would love that very much. Just like I loved my mini Liadri, before everyone got it on easymode by exploiting game mechanics and basically rendering it worthless.
GW2 has a severe lack of items that display any kind of skill that was required for getting said items.
This coming Tuesday, October 21, the Mad Realm returns with our annual Halloween release. On December 16, we’ll release our usual holiday-themed festivities with Wintersday. Both of these releases will feature the same content as last year but with refreshed rewards, giving you fun new festival-themed items to earn.
This is a direct post from the GW2 post on the coming ‘new’ content. So pretty much DON’T expect anything new to do in game, except grinding out to get new skins (the usual). kitten like this is why I’m not playing atm…

I think you’ll like the new rewards. Granted, I’m more than a little obsessed with Halloween in general, but the goodies look pretty sweet to me!

Gaile- I’m sure the rewards are going to be nice. Who knows, maybe I’ll actually log on to see what’s in store for me. My complaint is the lack of vision and new content. There is no reason you can’t throw in some new content and not the same old stuff.
I would love to see new armor sets! Well, guess we have to wait and find out by ourselves.

No I won’t, I don’t play this game anymore. There are only certain moments I live for like the 2 I will show here:
So the only reason I bother to appear is the tower itself, as it reminds me those times I played 2D platformers that had no saving. And later to make fun of all those that never experienced those hard times, and thus have no talent for this jumping puzzle.
Then why am I saying this? Well sometimes whatever is left of my humanity resurfaces. And so if I can’t have the fun the original Guild Wars gave me then perhaps I will be able to give it to a few others.
So no whatever the reward is it will not impress me as I only care about stats not looks.
UNLESS! The reward will be a Dhuum’s Soul Reaper as a staff – the only skin in GW which ALMOST made me buy it.
not doing the clock tower is the reward i’ve decided to give myself each halloween

any chance there is some crazy looking “potion cooker” rifle or a jacobs ladder backpiece or something “frankenstein-ish”?

Are we talking about rewards for the clock tower, or overall?
Because I still haven’t been able to do the Clock Tower.

Sweet as in “Candy Corn” dropped from every mob or sweet as in rewarding like in 2012 when we were getting Gem Shop rewards?

This. For a year I was proud of my Mini Liadri, and it was the only mini I actually liked because of what it meant. The second round of the Queen’s Bloodsports came around, I quickly got my “The Blazing Light” title and proudly displayed it. Then “The Blazing Light” became the new “Combat Medic”, and everyone had a Mini Liadri… then that title and that mini were sadly retired for me.
Still though, I am very excited for the Halloween festivities (I’ve been enjoying the GW1 festivities since last Saturday).

I dont see anything wrong with locking away cosmetic rewards from unskilled / incompetent players. There are already items like that btw. Liadri mini and SAB tribulation mode weapons come to my mind.
I’m fine with cosmetic skins being locked behind skill, BUT I’m also fine with those same skilled players wanting to sell those skins if they don’t like it.
I earned Mini Liadri back in the first year and yeah, I’m proud of myself for having gotten it the hard way, but I’m not a mini collector, so if ANet had given me the opportunity to sell it for, I dunno, 200g or whatever mini collectors were willing to pay for it, I’d have sold it in a heartbeat.
The problem is that the JP doesn’t only take skill into consideration. People with bad internet or stuff like that will basically be mechanically unable to do it, seeing as you need very exact timing and a single lag means you will fail it more or less.

First two years was gloves and boots.
This year? It’s generic with chooseable stat (as Mad King’s stats used magic find thus now become select your stat) shoulders.
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

Agreed. I really don’t need the frustration that comes with endless attempts and failures.

Anything that requires real skill will be like that, a single lag means failure, so because lag and bad internet is something that happen, we shouldn’t have anything that requires skill?
I’m studying these, they might help?

Very glad to hear it! I’ll still hold back from hoping for Halloween 2012 reward chances though…
There are no new rewards lol. Just gemstore outfit and reskined witch outfit… so what are you talking about Gaile?
I’d like to know too what rewards you were talking about.
Joining in – exactly what rewards are “sweet” here?!
There’s nothing new but reskins of the worse outfits (not even armor) nor anything else even decent!

Well there are the three new utility items (crystal/stone/3rd one) and the bat transform potion. The maize item too. None of which are really useful though.
Please give us a keyring…
Let me guess? someone stole your sweetrolls?
BM: I want to present you my lovely jingle bear mia
If pet had voices: Mommy, I did it! :3
Since Halloween is returning then it most likely means the Clock Tower too.
So let me guess the first time reward:
errr hmmm is it a pair of gloves that will look just like some other generic gloves, without the rest of the suit?
Or maybe the developers will try to be “original” by making it a backpiece this time? But seriously now, since there will probably be new weapon skins too, then why not make it a single weapon skin of our choice?
Or if it has to be armour then make it a whole set. Now I’m not saying a whole set in one go, but a single piece each day.
The reward will be soulbound anyway so I see no reason not to.
Unlocks would be too confusing for many players – they’ll put it in the gem store instead.
Funny thing is I never even used my gloves from last year.
I use the clocktower as a bag farm. It’s something I enjoy doing, and I’ve farmed a full stack of bags just from doing it.
This was one of several flawless runs.

You have the map to yourself. I had 4 other people in my map, and each round doesn’t start until everyone is off the tower. I’m sure I could reach 7 or higher if it was an empty instance.

You are persistant but we both know that scoring 6 requires luck as the rest needs to fail fast after each time you reach the top.
However since you think I can’t score 6 I have no choice but to make you blow off some steam from your big head.

…why are you assuming I thought that? You clearly showed you can make it to 7, but that would otherwise be next to impossible with an instance with other people in it. I was simply pointing out that you had a map to yourself, something that I didn’t have, and you managed to beat it 7 times because you had faster rounds. I wasn’t attacking you, but thanks for assuming I’m a hot head.

The ""new reward"" ?? Seriously ??
I had gloves last year. And gloves again this year. ""new"". Sure.

On the top of my head we have three new minis, a new outfit and multiple new foods with new effects.

And in your opinion, would you consider this 1% or 5% of what Halloween 2012 was?
Quite irrelevant. People imply that there were no new things, which is quite clearly completely false.

Agreed. 1% is indeed more than 0.
Krall, you and Vayne to this a lot. If last year I gave you a chocolate chip cookie, and this year I gave you a chocolate chip cookie cut into a slightly different shape, does that make it a new and different cookie?

Nope.
But then again I was already more or less certain that the event would be more or less the same seeing as they TOLD US that seasonal events will mainly be the same year after year (and it was also the case in Guild Wars 1).
Gaile talked about new rewards. There are multiple new rewards available in the game, thus what she said is very much correct.

I don’t care much for the new foods/mini/or outfit, but the new Poly-luminescent refractor’s sound really cool (though it looks like they are going to be expensive). I also think the new batwing tonic is pretty cool. Then there is also an item yet to be discovered being discussed here https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Zommoros-told-me-a-secret that could be interesting. Considering I was expecting no new things this year, I’d say the stuff we got was pretty good. Just because I don’t like everything new they gave us doesn’t mean there was nothing new. (Time to open more ToT bags looking for new Refractor)
