Guildwars had these new story instances where guildwars2 was introduced (sortof)
iow, you were able to play the npc’s.

as i saw the possibility to swap to thief skills last LS i was wondering if it would be possible to play the bad guy in future Living Stories.

I would love to play a Elder dragon minion and raid a town of Quaggan.
Or be a grasping vine and strangle our protagonists.
Maybe play Caith and see her adventures?
etc etc..

iow.

Dead Quaggan hanging from a tangled vine after my character gave him bags of gold expecting some karma or something and getting nothing in return but one sentence = good.

(In the new episode of LS you play as Caithe, you predicted it :P)

I am a rper, and I have a few bad guys in my canon and it is really strange having to go through my ps as a Courtier for example. Wouldn’t it be cool if you had the choice to join the “bad guys”? Be a bandit for humans, Son of Savnir for norns, flame legion for charr, nightmare court for sylvari and inquest for asura. It would be so cool if you could have a choice at level 10 whether to be good or bad. But then somehow make it so you still have to fight Zhaitan.

What if… you are the bad guy and you don’t just realize it because you’re already under the influence from that time you used the machine.

They are turning this game into a bad fairy tale for kids so sadly we wont be able to play the bad guy in near future. Even tough it would be funny to go on a rampage with my flamethrower in a quaggan village.

You couldn’t play a bad guy in Guild Wars 1 either, which so many people compare favorably to this game. It’s not about being adult or a kid. It’s a style of storytelling called heroic fantasy.

But the story telling style was more dirtier, it had more grey shades. Here we have a clear black and white sheme.

So you like raiding quagans? Closest thing you can find in game is gank the wvw quaggan parade.

You mean like Canach?

Or Scarlet, who turned out to be not evil in the sense we first thought she was?

Edit: Or the new info we’re getting about Caithe? I think that promises to be quite a gray area.

I’d like a more Mass Effect style, with renegade type behavior. Nothing over the top, like becoming a true enemy to the heroes of Tyria. Yet something where I can still make harsh choices, that in effect might make my allies a little squeamish and perhaps form some distrust or something.

The game is about killing pretty much everything that moves… How are you not feeling like a bad guy after committing genocide on skritt village because heart NPC suggested you should?

Being the “bad guy” is only a matter of perspective. The humans came to Tyria, and drove off the Charr from their own homeland. During Prophecies, the Charr make an attempt at getting their land back. If you ask me, the humans were the bad guys all along. It just depends whose side you’re on.

That is, obviously, as long as one of those sides isn’t just evil for the sake of being evil.

That would have been awesome!
I am actually trying to copy these bad guys factions and create their armor, weapons and body appereance.
At the moment I am working on Nightmare Court members… they look WAY better than those friendly Sylvari NPCs does. :P
Bandit clothes for my human characters..
Same for Charr, Norn and Asura
