Let's return to Guild Wars for a time!
I’ve found heroes make the earlier content, some of it anyway, pretty much a walk. Finally managed to get through Thirsty River and Elona Reach. Will try Dunes of Despair and bonus today.
But, from what I’ve seen in Nightfall, it was still pretty busy. Factions does look pretty dead though.
Yeah, heroes make everything easy but personally, I like having a party of people.
I’ll be heading to NF sometimes today or tomorrow when I get that high.
I’m on GW1! I’m STILL waiting on customer service to reset my password for my original account (it’s been nearly two weeks, and not a single word back from them?), but I re-bought the game and started a new account in the meantime. My char name is Spirit Windsongs, Prophecies/EotN, level 20, R/Mo.
I had this issue as well. The way I fixed it, finally, was to contact the customer service department with Guild Wars 2 instead. I get the feeling the Guild Wars 1 team is more or less automated as far as customer service.
I got a response, from the GW2 team, within that day and got my information so I could play. I recommend you do that same.
Hope this helps.
Thank you! I think I was forced into directing my request to GW2 in the first place, actually – I went to the usual “Reset my password” links for GW1, even went back to a reset email from years ago that I still had saved, and no matter which links/paths I chose I ended up being redirected to the new site. My initial (automated) response came from the GW2 address as well. shrugs I just want my account back. SO much time and money invested into that one over the years!
I miss the classic class roles of healer, tank, and nuker.
You can do everything with heroes, especially now that you can have a full party of them.
Back before they implemented a full hero party you could still do you+6 heroes (you had to ask someone to go in with you and bring their 3 heroes, and then they could leave, but their heroes will stay with you) to clear fow (that’s how i got my obsidian armor) and uw on HM, though it will take a bit of time.

Have you linked your GW and GW2 accounts? If so, your GW1 password will be the our GW2 password.

I found that doing UW with hero’s was quite hard. Having to micro manage them for some of the encounters. You can’t do the deep or Urzogs unless they’ve changed how you enter the Deep, and I think there are parts of Urzogs where you have to split up. I can’t really remember, never did finish Urzogs.
I still play GW at least once a week. I’m still trying to get an Eternal Blade.

I’ve linked the new account (same login info for GW1 and GW2) but the password reset is for an account that I’ve had since the first year GW existed. I played it pretty hardcore for a few years, took a couple years break, reset my password in 2012 but was only able to play for a few months, and then now I’m needing a password reset again. I don’t have my original access code because it was… what, 8 or 9 years ago? …so the reset link said I’d have to contact customer service to get it changed. I’ve given them all the information required, except that code, and I’ve not heard back from them. I assumed maybe they were out for holiday break since it was shortly before Christmas when I put in the request, but that should be over now, I’d think.

Yeah I think for Urzogs you might not be able to do it, unless there’s a way around the split-up. Deep I’m not 100% sure whether you can or can’t. I think those are the only two case though.
SAB-way I think it was called, did a good job with with FoW. I was also an A/X, using Pain Inverter and Assassin’s Promise – like I would call/ping a target as i cast AP and PI on it to hex it, and then the heroes (plus the target it self) would shred it.

The Deep would only let 4 people per portal. So you couldn’t manage them, also I believe those 2 are party’s of 12 or was it 16? Not to mention the very specific builds you needed to do it.
