Let us sell Gem Store Items
I assume you’re only talking about limited time only items as I can not see a way to make money off of items that are still for sale.
If someone buys a gemstore item from the gemstore and accidentally deletes it or the item is changed, they can get a refund or go to support and ask. What sort of guarantees do individual sellers of gemstore items offer? None, right? Since there are people unhappy because of gem store items that changed/lost, why should ANet authorize players to sell?

Open the market up and let us buy and sell Gem Store items. So if i want to buy 30 Black Feather Wings Backpacks and sell them later if i want to. This would only benefit Anet because Im sure the Gem Store sales would go through the roof. But yeah, open the Gem Store market and let us buy and sell everything on it.
It isn’t likely to benefit ANet much at all.
- Those who “pre-buy” (speculating that items being removed from the gem store) are more likely to convert gold to gems, meaning ANet won’t receive any direct benefit (as they would from people using cash monies to buy gems).
- Those who “post-buy” (to obtain an item not currently available from ANet) will be spending gold.
In other words, if anything, this is likely to reduce ANet’s income, not increase it.

Why would I use my in game gold to buy a gemstore item from you if I can use my in game gold to buy that gemstore item from Anet?
The only way for this to work for you would be for you to undersell Anet. This would increase the value of gold relative to gems which, in turn, would discourage gem sales.

Unless you are selling something for less than the cost, then why should someone buy an item from you when they can buy the same item with access to support if needed? I really don’t see any advantages to buying from other players.

Why would i sell it for less than cost? Unless i was leaving the game and wanted to cash out? Just saying, like i have $500 usd in EvE Dominix ship skins right now because i can sell them to other players for a profit..because i bought low. Im saying open the GW2 marketplace to the players.

IF you wanted to leave the game, there is no point in cashing out, as you wont need any gold anyways.

The gemstore cost does not go up and down. It is fixed. If you are charging more than the gemstore does then no one will buy from you.
If you mean the gold to gem conversion market then yes it fluctuates but allowing you to profit, in this fashion, from that fluctuation would undermine Anet’s income. Are you willing to donate, potentially, tens of thousands of dollars per month to Anet to make up the loss?
