Lets discuss Cantha
- They never said that they would not be introducing Cantha in the future (list citation if this is true)
- Yes, of course I’d like to see it introduced.
“A release is 7 days or less away or has just happened within the last 7 days…
These are the only two states you’ll find the world of Tyria.”
Yes.
I would personally like to see Cantha introduced into the game sometime.
- I loved that GW1 was the first MMO to have a bit of everything. Prophecies had the traditional style (even in that, there were sights which were new to me), then there was Cantha with the more Asian styled theme, which I back then didn’t care that much for, but actually came to love during my travels in Cantha, and of course Elona that came with Nightfall, which introduced a more middle-eastern look to it.
I loved the sights of each campaign’s map, since they all offered something different and had a lot of variety in scenery (all the maps had different scenery in and on itself, but they all differed from each other, which I absolutely loved).
Personally, I am looking forward to first getting the entire map of Tyria available for exploration, but I am looking just as much forward to seeing Cantha (hopefully) and Elona again.
I feel that it wouldn’t feel like stepping into the world of Guild Wars without all the sights the first game had to offer. It would be a shame to have it left out, and we’d be missing out on a lot of content and, of course, beautiful sights.

There were a lot of rumors regarding this, but I’m merely asking.
There is already a thread on this.
Lets try to keep it all in one thread that way ANET really sees we want them to get to Cantha sooner then later.

Cantha will be making a return in a future expansion. Source: none.
Cantha is a big part of the Guild Wars universe. There is a ton of lore for it already, which makes it so much easier to create brand new content. Many fans from the original game love that continent and all the quirky little things that come along with it. And the Jade Sea could house such a spectacular maps.
Cantha will be re-introduced at some point, I have no worries about that. But it will be sometime after Elona. The Crystal Desert is just too important a place, with too much history and lore surrounding it, to leave it unexplored for very long — and it’s also the gateway to Elona. We’ll get that first, then on to Cantha and other parts unknown.
Like Blacklight, I think Elona will be reintroduced before Cantha. Personally, I don’t care what order they come back in; I want both.
The size and depth of GW1’s expansions really set them apart from the usual MMO expansions of half-a-dozen new zones on a little island. Cantha and Elona were big and expanded the lore, cultures and storylines of Tyria in interesting and beautiful ways.
I was deeply saddened to hear that NCSoft is against Arenanet reintroducing Cantha due to is Asian themes. I was also somwhat puzzled, as the Kodan have strongly Tibetan architechture and the Tengu live by what is essentially a Bushido code. Asian themes are already in the game and they don’t overshadow or take anything away from the world’s other influences.
Hello,
As Hjorje.9453 already explained, there is already a thread about this here : https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/How-is-getting-rid-of-Cantha-a-universal-representation-of-humanity/.
