Lets talk GW2 - What's ahead?
I personally look forward to all the upcoming pvp changes. If they can make the pvp in gw2 as awesome as it was in gw1 then this game will keep me busy for a very long time. It is already decent but definitely needs an arena/deathmatch game type. I know they are stoked about getting everyone to play their king of the hill type but I know that doesn’t appeal to every pvp player as much as a simple team deathmatch would. Not sure why they are so stuck on only one type. Hopefully that will change and we can see a good guild vs guild return with some leader boards and good matchmaking.
Personally, I’m looking forward to seeing the rest of Tyria’s map opening up (the Crystal desert and Ring of Fire islands especially) and the two other maps, Cantha and Elona, as well.
Same here! If you support Cantha and Elona coming back, you might want to chime in at this thread that the devs are following. We would also really appreciate your support on the petition linked in my signature!
I’m totally optimistic about the direction of the game, aside from that discouraging news about Cantha. GW1 only got better with each update and expansion, and I expect the same of GW2. I’m glad the devs released the “skeleton,” so to say, of the game and are improving it in a live environment with player feedback, rather than sitting on it for months longer and releasing what they considered “perfect” without the benefit of the give and take between community and developers. I enjoy the game as it is (for a skeleton, it’s kitten amazing!) and agree with their approach to making it better. It’s like an ongoing work of art that we get to watch them build…and even help them sculpt.

Many thanks to Wooden Potatoes for his outstanding lore video, a real tribute to Cantha.

This. I would absolutely love it if they finally put in a deathmatch type game.
Even capture the flag would be welcomed.
And GvG would be a godsend.
I’d definitely start playing again, as much as I did before if anything to improve PvP comes out.
WvW could use some revamps too. Some variety in the maps for each borderland would be pretty cool. Have it shuffle them or something.
The personal story had its nice moments, but overall it seemed so disconnected from the world somehow. Probably because once you got out of the instance, the world would appear as if nothing ever happened.
Well capture the flag is kinda coming up forrae

First of all they need to complete the story in Tyria. There’s no point in rushing Cantha and Elona in here already. Mainly because they need to have the gameplay elements “fixed” in which I mean that when they have figured out the best structure of different content, designing the new continents will be easier for them.
- But yeah, I’m looking forward to Cantha and Elona, but first we need the Woodland Cascades, Deldrimor Front, Crytal Desert, Bloodlegion Homelands, Far Shiverpeaks, Ring of Fire Island, Magus Falls and the rest of the Maguuma Jungle. There is no continent or zone I prefer, since there are many memories from the Original GW in them for me. I’m just looking forward to enjoying them as they come.
- But don’t rush them on the content, or it will come out flawed.
