Level 1-24 gear has one stat.
Level 25-54 gear has two stats.
Level 61-80 gear has three stats.

But there is a limbo section of level 55-60 gear that can have both 2 stats or 3 stats. What I find the most annoying is I receive level 60 rare gear from map completion that has only 2 stats. Why is this? I’d rather it be a hard cutoff at level 55 where everything 55 and up has 3 stats on it, instead of this mix and match.

The way I level I’m 80 before I even hit the 55 – 60 level area’s so I really don’t worry about the stats. I basically buy what I need at those levels. The gear isn’t expensive at all at those levels either.

I had lvl 48 gear in my 70’s, and only had lvl appropriate armor because I leveled armosmith at the same time.

Point is, leveling gear doesn’t really matter.

I pretty much upgraded my gear every 15 levels from 20 on so I guess I never saw the issue that you did OP. Tbh you really don’t have to upgrade very often.

10,20,35,50,65,80 always worked perfect for the stats I wanted and oh I only used green until I could make my own exotics once I had hit 80. I still use this system on any new alt I make too.

Since when did this business of being a hero become being a business?

When creating a new character I only upgrade my gear a few times.

I live off the land between 0-35. At 35, the first time it’s availiable, I craft a Rare set of gear for the new character, which makes the character no-less capable than an 80 in AC or CM.
This is then what I use until 65, which, as you mentioned, is when triple stats have just started to exist, and is also the minimum level to apply Superior Runes. Granted, around the Level 60 mark, the character does often start to struggle with some mobs due to gear not being kept up-to-date, so around that level the 35 gear starts to be replaced in parts by stuff from the land.
Then once the Level 65 rare gear is crafted, and Runes applied, it obviously doesn’t get replaced until Level 80, with a set of exotics that the Runes then get transferred too.

I do a similar thing but at 35, I get t1 cultural armour and at 60 I get t2- that lasts me until 80, when I get exotics.
