Level 80?
I know this is gonna sound stupid, but how am I level 80? I played the game about 8 months ago and until recently decided to pick it up again. I know when I stopped I was level 30+, but now I am level 80. Is it due to me downloading the mac beta (I was originally playing on my bootcamp partition) or something else?
Likely your account has been compromised, and someone else is/was using it. You should immediately change your game and email address password.

First I would recommend changing your passwords. It is possible your account was compromised and used for botting/rmt. Next contact support and inform them of what happened.

Are you standing in the mists? In the mists you’re automatically raised to level 80. That’s anywhere in SPvP or WvW. You’d have to go into the actual game world to be your substantive level.
Just like the others said. Your account is either compromised or you are standing in an area that is leveling you up automatically. Could be something else but I am not sure of another possibility.
Yeah try going to any of the main cities (Lions Arch is usually the easiest to reach). Because they’re non-combat, non PvP areas they’ll show your real level.
If you’re still showing as level 80, and if you’re sure you weren’t before then change your password and email address and email support.
