Can anyone clarify – if I use the level 80 boost I wont get the level up reward chests I would normally get if I dinged normally or used tomes?

I haven’t used mine yet but I would expect it to still give those since using a lv20/30 scroll will still give you the rewards for all the levels.

You do NOT get the individual level-up rewards. I used mine on an alt, so I can confirm it.

I was actually relieved by this, because what you do get is better than anything you get, then immediately outgrow using tomes, but if you were hoping for one of the items you would get leveling up, you should know you’ll bypass it with the level 80 boost.

It’s a heck of a lot less clicking and inventory work, let me tell you.

If i level to 79 then use my 80 boost do you still get the rewards?

I boosted from ~17 to 80, so I can’t answer guarantee it from experience, but you should still get the boost package without getting the level-up rewards. From 79-80, you’d miss out on an obsidian shard and 15 spirit shards.

At that point, I would just finish that last level and use the boost on an alt. Even if you have only a tiny bit of interest in alts, it seems like a waste to use all that just to go up one level.

Thanks all – tbh it was only a couple of items and a skin that I hadn’t unlocked that was bothering me – my recently damaged wrist was hoping they were not given

I believe I read a post by an Anet person saying that you will. You’d get the 1-79 rewards and then the one from the boost.

Depends on how many tomes you have. Some of us have stacks, so it wouldn’t be that much of a problem. Actually leveling to 79 and then using the boost might be a waste though.
