The changes in april…
1. Will there be a level cap increase?
2. will there be new additions, like higher tier gear etc
3. Will there be anything that will make my current gear/character have to re-gear up like in WoW?

reason i ask is because im about to gear out some of my character for WvW… but with a lot of changes around the corner, I don’t want to make the drop and it be practically useless… Like in WoW, you can gear up and a level cap increases or new gear comes out, and u are left to getting everything again too soon…

is that the case here?

You’ll have to wait until all the blog posts are out for a definite answer, but the way I know Anet, I’d guess no, no, and no. They might have messed up a bit with ascended gear, but I trust that they’re going to stick to their philosophy of avoiding the gear treadmill. But as I said, make sure to wait until all the blog posts are out.

Also, we’re getting new traits, and all of the sigils and runes are being reworked, so it might be wise to wait until after the patch anyway

Both increasing the level cap and adding a new tier of gear were things they wanted to keep limited to expansions. Considering they haven’t even fully rolled out the ascended tier yet, a new tier is definitely not coming any time soon. I wouldn’t expect either of these for another 1-2 years at least.

In regards to gear, the April changes you need to keep in mind are the changes to sigil and runes, the new traits (and future trait progression) and the critical damage change.

What would bring you to even think that would happen? You are making up problems that have in no way any point of logic in them.

3. Some of the changes to stats (Ferocity!) and rune/sigil rebalancing could make your current build unviable. If you are thinking about gearing up, i suggest you wait for the patch first, just in case.
