Leveling in GW2
Seems like if you pick a different race, most (not all) of your playing from 1-80 will be different than a previous character, especially if you make different decisions while playing through the main quests. On each of my races, there have been a crap ton of zones that I did on one character that I never went to on another character. /shrug
Well to be honest there is plenty of content to level 2-3 characters without having to do the same content twice. By choosing different races/classes and choices in the personal story you also don’t have to do more than a couple common personal story missions.
Leveling 7 alts of course is a different story, but who the hell has time for that anyway, especially with the Ascendeds?
Done different race areas already because in order to level faster without spending my money i went through starter areas and what not getting all the hearts done. However i dont have different races just because i dont like most races but i have given them chances. and i have tried different decisions just to see what would come out of it and it honestly doesnt change much because it all converges to the same point so not much changes.
Hmm, don’t know what to tell you. Never had to go to another races area to level up or spend any money to level up, and I have 3 character of 3 different races, and only about 10% of the content they have been through have been the same as the others. Are you skipping the events, and just doing your character missions, and the hearts?
My brother also has about 3 characters, and among his 3 characters he has been to zones that none of my 3 characters have been to, and vice versa.

I agree with this post. Your starting area should be sufficient for leveling. I’ve never had to go to another area of the same level. Just do events, hearts, explore, and story missions and you’ll be fine.
Try asura/charr, they’re my favorite for story missions.
Everyone needs a little optimism!
Oh i dont mean just 3 characters. Im on my 5th alt at the moment. actually my 6th because i deleted my ranger so i could make a new one of a different race. I just went to other areas because even though i didnt skip events i just didnt enjoy waiting around in an area ive already done 4 times. All of my characters are human except for my ranger which is norn. I would have made an asura warrior because i like the t3 armor but my warrior was my first character and at that time i didnt know how cool asuras were.
Anyways i have completed most of the world. Ive done almost every heart and the only reason i havent finished exploration is because i decided to not get a legendary until after i have all the characters i want.
The character im on is a mesmer which im really comfortable playing. However im having a really hard time leveling. Its so painful to just do a couple of story missions then grind hearts and events and then start the cycle again. Im up for any suggestions though on what would help me enjoy leveling more. After mesmer i only have one more character that im going to make which is an elementalist
And fyi id rather just craft but paying 100g for 56lvls is not ideal

In the 1-80 leveling there are only 12 missions (out of some 40) that are common to all storylines. The rest change according to your choices.
