Guild Wars 2

First off: i dislike this new unlocking in general, but on thief its especially bad.

Dagger/Dagger: No backstab until level 10 as you have no reliably stealth means Autoattacking until 50% life, then heatseeker.
Sword/Pistol: Porting in with 2, then autoattacking until you are level 7, the you get pistolwhip
Pistol/Pistol: Autoatacking until level 7, then you can use unload (or you use the subpar onehanded number 3)
The list goes on…

The early leveling consists mainly of autoattacking which plays insanely boring. This is a horrible way to show newer players the thief and the game in general.

you think you have it bad? Engineers have naturally crappy weapon attacks since they have kits, but not kits for new engies till level 12 now. lol

also their profession skill is based on what utility they have

Haven’t tried to level up a alt yet, but from what I have read. Leveling up is much faster, but it is marred by skill lock.

its only faster till like 10 or so, at which point it rapidly gets closer to normal.
Also note, that if you did personal story before you would get big experience very fast, so all in all its probably equivalent

If you get to the skill point npcs that you have to talk to to activate combat with, if you stealth during the fight, they instantly reset.

Well, at least new players get shown early on what its like to play something else than warrior i suppose :P

With an instant level scroll, all new characters start at level 20. There should be no issues because of this.
