Is it possible to do heart & mind (story) to get a second leystone armor box, or do I have to play the lottery (noxious pods)?

yes it is possible, personally i did it about 10 times so far and that collection is a happily forgotten memory (i think that armor looks bad :P)

You can also get a box from doing dragon’s stand meta event end chest. Its rng though but pretty good drop rate. However it can be an armor box allowing you to choose, or a specific armor piece box.

What’s a profession (besides Guardian) that has an easy time with this fight?

I don’t have any other geared professions, but I do have an 80 necro (that I use for crafting), and tons of tomes of knowledge.

All of my guardian’s armor is ascended or legendary (I have a berserker and marauder set).

Also, can I immediately do Heart & Mind, or do I have to do the complete HoT story with this alt to get the rewards?

You need to do the full story on each alt to even play the final mission. All story mission progress is character-bound.

in general, a power build is easier. class doesnt really matter, but since you have heavy gear i suggest guard, rev, or war to start. i say power only because the only time there is ever a distinction between power and condi is in the final phase of the mordy fight, where he takes about 10x power damage and no extra condi damage, which can be annoying. i recommend completing your elite spec at least before doing hearts & minds, but it doesnt matter too much for the rest of the story. you will need to run through the entire story on each toon.

you also get auric and chak weapons, so class diversity is good to help those collections along too. and saving the minstrel/viper/trailblazer/whatever box that you get until youve got enough boxes for a set is prolly a good idea since those stat combos are desirable even in exotic and slightly more expensive than core stat combos.

youll get used to the mordy fight after doing it a few times. i was an engi only player but by the time id done about 5 run throughs i could do it on any class in zerk exotics and missing gear components like runes/sigils or a couple trinkets.

grab a minion focused build for your necro if you dont wanna go thru the hassle of toming a new toon to 80, everything will be easy with rise! on a reaper.

I’m surprised you already have legendary armor, you must be a hardcore raider.

Revenant was fairly easy as was thief. I don’t think that any of the classes gave me issues. I’d go with Revenant since you have ascended armor. You will have to complete the entire HoT story but it only takes at most 4 hours.
