Lfg: looking for geriatrics
52 here…you’re a kid. lol
There was a thread about older players earlier, but I can’t find it. There are lots of us. Just turned 61 last month, a grandma, and still plays GW2. Lots better than sittin’ on the porch LOL
Quite a few older folks in my guild, including a couple of people in their 60s. Many in their 30s, 40s and 50s.
Some younguns too.
I am 52 and my wife, who also plays, is 50.
The fact that we are older, married, and play together elicits more “oh how cute”s than I can remember.
80s: Necro x2, Ranger, Warr, Guardian x2, Ele x2, Mes, Thief

Lol, 44 is geriatric? Oh dear, I must be near death! There are lots of ‘older’ players, I’m sure.
Just ask how many were adults when they started playing Pong! Lol.
I don’t have gray hair (because of a weird genetic quirk from my mom, where her, my sister and myself all got black hair (pepper with some salt) as we got older). But I’m definitely in the older players group. ^^
38 here (not geriatric yet but working on it… I already have some gray hair.. ). There are some old folks out there gaming, just that we tend to be so inmature you won’t notice us..
There are at least two guilds that I know in GW2 that are geared towards older people, BTW..

wrapped up in some crazy ritualist hoo-ha from Cantha.
A real grab bag of ‘you can’t hurt me. They’re called Guardians.
48 here. Everyone in my Guild is over 30, some well over.
This is a really casual friendly game, so there are lots of older players. I’m 46
Just turned 43 and my better half is 50 (I am never sure how to refer to her, Girl Friend does not always seem appropriate), and we both play. I have a guildie who I think is in their 70’s. Also, I played GW with someone, alliance member, who was in their 70’s, his usual party contained him, 1 or 2 of his children and various grandchildren.

Well here’s one of the threads. I think there was another one too, but I don’t think I posted in it, so I can’t find it.

Please give us a keyring…
51…..GET OFFA MY LAWN!!!!!
(and I complain about most EVERYTHING full time….)
I’m gonna chalk up that “overweight” crack to a lucky guess…..or statistics…..maybe…

You don’t stop playing because you get old, you get old because you stop playing.
48 here. Most all of my guildies, most of whom have now quit GW2 now, are IRL buddies in their late 40’s. There are surprisingly many old farts playing. :-)
21. I am old enough to drink. That counts right? RIGHT?!?
I have a few guild mates in their 70s. They are retired military and always have interesting stories to share.
I’ll turn 50 on Saturday next. Look me up in game for some good laughs.
49 – not overweight – not geriatric – but comparitively speaking, I can’t hang with the twitch reflexes of the typical gamers these days.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
58. I still boggle at my friends sending me invites to play farmville and FB stuff. eww.
I enjoy being around a younger crowd, but I’m often forced to google a lot of things.

57 here. I know folks in their 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s who still play. I know I plan to keep playing when I grow up.
There were 2 threads within the last 6 months out here with us “young’uns” representing.

The “other” thread: did you mean this one?

I’m 47 on the outside, but inside — you know, where it really counts-- I’m 25. Or 12. Depends on the day.
I’m 44. I only feel old when that one guild mate who joined up in GW1 before his voice even cracked talks about legally going out to drink with his friends. Most of my guild mates were in their early 20s when I first started playing with them and are now 30+.
Wow! You are all still just kids. I’m 70, been playing since the beginning, have 18 lvl 80’s, and need a life (it would seem).
Excellent! I would salute you all, but, y,know, my arthritic shoulder…
Howdy, 53 here, good to see I’m not the only one.
Every once in a while I get the ‘man, you old’ thing, but the kiddos don’t realize we were the ones playing D&D at their age, which paved the way for all these glorious pixels. I used to dream about just making a random monster generator to make encounters go a little quicker.
<yells at cloud>60 on the 27th of this month.
Mud Bone – Sylvari Ranger
44 geriatric!!! LOL—Would love to be in my forties again.
61 now!
I really don’t think older gamers are that uncommon.
I’m only 29 but I always seem to end up meeting and talking to people a lot older than me. (Maybe something to do with the fact that I started gaming very young, so I remember things like loading tapes into the ZX Spectrum and installing games in DOS, which required 5 restarts that took about 1/2 an hour each.)
I used to post on a Nintendo forum a lot that had a large crowd of older gamers. If anyone complained about games being too difficult or the graphics or whatever they’d get the stock rant (joking of course) about “You kids and your graphics and your saved games and your hippity hoppity music. Back in my day we walked 1/2 an hour, uphill, to the arcade to spend our 20p pocket money playing Pong / had to read all our games because graphics hadn’t been invented, so you should be grateful, and stay off my lawn”.
Funny thing is even though it was a joke it actually did help put things in perspective for some people.
