Here is some constructive feedback post-patch.

With the new instance being in LA, this means people never leave LA; a concept which has been addressed in other posts. Long and short is the new instance, in the minds of many players, makes all previous dungeons and even world event farming obsolete (higher stat gear/shards available through dungeon). The end result is a minimum 5-10 minutes spent in overflow every time I log in game.

Part of the problem is that I dislike overflow based on a feeling of not being “at home” on my chosen server. The community of a server acts differently when there is a permanence to the interactions than overflows do. The fact that I can’t get into WvW in overflow isn’t great either even though I could go to a different zone to do so.

I’m not sure how many others have experienced this, and I realize we are in a holiday time so maybe I should bite my tongue and wait and see?

As an aside I’ve noticed that Lion’s Arch chat which could be fun or interesting has disintegrated in the face of the endless wall of LFG lvl # FotM posts which quickly drown out any funny or creative posts.

I think you have to consider that even casual dungeon-runners had exhausted what they wanted from the older dungeons. I was doing them for fun, not the gear.

The fractals are fun and it’s something new and different for a game that was running low on things to work on.

Oh and regarding map chat — especially in a place like Lion’s Arch, the game is sooo much more satisfying if you turn off map chat.

Also, overflow LA is still the best place to form a pug group outside a guild so having a few minutes there isn’t a big deal. You can choose to stay in overflow or travel to your home server or even put yourself back in the queue for the next time a spot opens on your home server.

It generally doesn’t last that long since so many people are passing through quickly (form a group/go to dungeon, go to the Mists/take asura portal to new zone).
