If I have Permanent Scarecrow Finisher and Permanent Mad King Finishers, what will I do with their limited versions (aka Limited-Use Mad King Finisher and Limited-Use Scarecrow Finisher)? Are these rewards really pointless after helping the game by spending gems or is there some hidden method to use these for something?

psh dont buy the perma versions, just open like 20k tot bags and get 3k uses of each. thats “infinite”, you probably wont stomp that many people in a year.

The OP said he/she already bought them so your post is not helpful at all. It would have been fine if the OP was asking for advice on whether or not to buy the permanent finishers and you recommended they just open ToT bags to get a bunch of limited use versions. Kinda reminds me of those times when someone shouts “Don’t fall down!” just after you fell. LoL

To the OP: The only thing you can do with the limited use versions if you already bought the permanent versions is to discard them. I bought the permanent scarecrow finisher and when double-clicking a limited version in my inventory I get a message on screen telling me I already have that content unlocked.

Keep in mind when discarding the limited use finishers you will have to type the name exactly in a box to confirm deletion. For example, if you have 23 limited use scarecrow finishers you would type ‘23 Limited-Use Scarecrow Finishers’. It’s very case sensitive. The ‘Yes’ button will light up when you typed the name in correctly.

Is it not like the gathering tools? Can you not equip the temp finishers and let it use them up before the perma-ones take over again?

I don’t think so. I think I tried to use a temp finisher at one point (not these) but as it was one of my few unlocked ones it simply didn’t work. Not that there’s any reason to use a temp one if you have it unlocked, then you’d just have to watch a timer instead of keeping it active as long as you wish.

So, in conclusion, the answer is YES, these finishers are pointless content once you helped the game by spending gems for the permanent version.

Since they are “rewards” in the Trick or Treat bags, it would be nice if you could change them for a different reward in some way. Anet should really think of these things when they add items to the game. Just as someone said previously: why purchase a permanent finisher if you have a bunch of the limited ones? Give us something to do with the limited finishers and we will have more incentive to get a permanent one.

Hmm, I play WvW and clear Toxic Creature camps, so no, the finishers aren’t “pointless” they are kind of cool. I have about 300+ each.
