SO, thats real frustration, being in weak server and trying to do obsidian sanctum. It is not something related to my skills in the game or time investment, etc. Just after many hours patiently trying to reach the kite I am killed again and again by campers. This kind of achievements are leaving bad taste in my mouth, a game should be enjoyable and in the case with GW" it is 99% of the time, but achievement like this make it frustrating.

I hope attention will be paid and in future, temporary content achievements will be designed to be dependant of the skill or time investment of the players, and not of the mercy of the other pvp-ers

Then why don’t you go to LA and say that we are going to make a server push for Obsidian Sanctum for all players who still need the achievement. Meet at X time.

I wanted that achievement. I couldn’t get it because we were getting camped. So I got my guildy group and spread the word throughout the server that we would be taking back Sanctum? And guess what? After 30 minutes of hard fighting, we did.

That’s a hard fought achievement.

Is it really that big of deal to miss one achievement? It’s doubtful that you’re going to get them all anyways, especially if your server can’t get through the JP in WvW (seeing as the WvW achievements alone are very time consuming even for the good servers)

I missed my chance when my server held 90% of eb, so now with all the campers there it felt really hopeless for me but oh well i won’t give up that easily too!

Well this is the end game, ticking boxes with achievements. There is no gear treadmil, no competition for world first kill and I can’t just rerun the personal sories without end or to keep doing same dungeons for same reward, I need some kind of goal or target when I play game.

And technically it’s two achievements this time – you need all the kites for the “Got all the kites” achievement.

And how about defending Stonemist Keep 100,000 times, or getting 5 legendaries? How are those achievements coming for you?

Dear Anet,

Please stop putting PvE rewards where they don’t belong. It makes absolutely no sense in gameplay especially when it’s time limited. I understand that wvw is effectively an extension of PvE but let’s try to at least keep a facade.

Reread please “Limited time” in the title. Stonemist will not go away after 2 weeks.

Perhaps I have been lucky, but the vast majority of the enemy interactions I have had in EB jp for the past few months have been quite friendly.
Are you trying to engage them first?
Usually I /wave at an enemy I see, and if they /wave back 99.9% of the time they won’t attack me if I don’t attack them.

I did this with my theif it was easy mode i just ran past all the campers.

Use the invisibility fountains. they give you 15 minutes in total to get to the end without being disturbed.

Anet pays no attention to skill, I don’t think they know what it is…

So don’t ever expect to be rewarded for it, they reward people in this game for smacking pinatas and stuff, what kinda skill is there here?

Look at all the achievements in PVE compared to PVP and WVW. skill…

You want an achievement that’s obtainable? Try Yak slapper. You’ll never get it in your life time.

WvWvW is a complete disgrace.

There should be no PvE content in WvWvW anyway, it would cut down on ques, get the kitten jumping puzzle porters out and keep it just a WvW/PvP area.

And they need to start paying more attention to their WvW/PvP player base or they are gonna lose them all when a better game comes out that will pay attention to us instead of the “casual” players.

You’ll just have to form a group to do it with and murder all the hostiles in your path. I’ve gone through every violent situation imaginable in that place (it’s one of my favorite zones), anythings possible in there, lol. You can also attempt it at different times of the day where it might be more empty, or keep running though naked begging for mercy (it actually works sometimes, I don’t hit obvious non-hostiles myself most of the time.)

The main camped place that’s hard to fight through is the Arena, which is where the Kite is (at very top of it). The fountain can’t help you through there as it wears off by then and the entire place is a deathtrap.

There really ought to be an alternative route to the top. The arena is way too easy to camp.
