There’s been a huge hole in the communication from the Devs and I think I’ve found the reason why.

We really need them to copy paste what they are posting elsewhere and post those things here so people more readily have available information about their problems.

I’ve seen posts on Reddit, Twitter, FB …..everywhere else but here about the concerns of the game and people are in the dark entirely about it. Please copy/paste your future plans into these forums as postits so that we can understand what’s happening.

Thanks.

Personally, I find it sort of unprofessional to use social media to communicate when your a business. When I got my degree in graphic design, they told us to never connect our professional site to facebook, twitter, etc. Although these days I’m seeing it happen with other companies. I hate it.

Ya they said the would correlate the information for us so we could find it easier. Basically I have come to the conclusion that they simply incapable of writing or articulating words because I havent seen an anet DEV post in any of the threads I have posted in or viewed since Nov 14 post about the ascend armour. After that I have seen dead silence and that is horrific especially in thier game forum.
Edit – Robert in dungeons – he has posted to be fair and only about bugs*

I do not use twitter or farcebook so I could care less about that and if they cant talk to me directly (forums) they dont deserve my support is how I see it. Want to sell me an expansion, gems? right ok….

This forum is the OFFICAL LINE OF COMMUNICATIONS between players and the game. Social media sites such as twitter/FB are just that – SOCIAL. They should not be the primary medium for discussion.

The issue here is, players find lack of communication from the devs in these forums so they seek other means – i.e. FB/twitter/etc.

Sure there are some ANet representatives posting here, however, from a players perspective it’s not adequate.

You are assuming that the forum community is more important than the reddit community, the Twitter community, the Facebook community or any of those other communities.

Your assumption is understandable – you are part of the forum community, so you think your community is the most important one.

You are wrong.

The official Facebook page is as official as this forum. Likewise for Twitter, or anything else where ArenaNet wants to share information. This place is not more important than anywhere else – the only place that is above all else is within the game.

Twitter and Facebook are primarily there to casually engage with community members who may not like the forum format and prefer social networks. The Twitter and Facebook profiles are often used to direct people to customer support and not for soliciting game feedback. Developers do not post on Facebook and Twitter; only community managers manage the Twitter and Facebook profiles. Twitter is often used for emergent status update, such as relaying information when events are unfolding quickly with the game, but most major information (such as update notes) is flowing from the forums.

Developers and community managers do not participate on Reddit on a regular, official basis. The team may have held organized and scheduled AMAs there in the past, but these events are akin to the live chats and interviews we do with fansites and media sites.

Hope that clarifies things.
