I’m been thinking about LA’s reconstruction, and it just seems to make sense we have air ship wreckage everywhere, experts from Rata sum willing to sale their knowledge or if need be reverse engineer, or borrow Pact design to remake the fleet, or allow guilds and merchants to construct their own air and sea ships.

Having read all of the books starting with Sea of Sorrows we saw Spoiler how a boat motor back in the day or a djinn enchanted ship completely out advantage everyone

Now I’m positive that the Captains council will know their weakness from the skies and take action to prevent or deter an air offensive again. Maybe they already were planning for an air armada last year when they made a trade agreement with the Zepherites. We don’t know the details of it other than whoever made the deal got a seat on the council. So maybe they needed time to gather some special materials of sorts or create prototypes capable of mass payload and combat maneuverability So maybe that new ship in the Zephrite santum is such a thing, I noticed the red sails reminded me of the Orrian Xebes mentioned in SOS perhaps now that orr can been neutralized priory scholars have uncover the secrets to the magical sails and are now testing it in skyship application, or perhaps as the Zephrite lore goes they already posses magical red sails from before the time the dragons rose to sail away, though the former would make more sense, because they’ve never have those sails installed on their main ship.

The Pacts airships and the Mothership were already well known to have existed before we even had the first LS season. I remember the brief end cut scene with airships docking on the towers on LA at the end of the personal story. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QvXgP6Wksfc&t=1m8s

Now LA should still have a Seaport it makes sense because more cargo can be carried over water. but for scouting, bombing, anti air, its not too far fetch. It could even be handy against submarines or whatever minions of Bubbles that like to lurk just beneath the surface. I can just envision the ship battles we could have with people running around the air or sea ships.

Anet should take this opportunity to let guilds make their halls with their own sky and sea docks. and have an LS of Exploration OR large scale meta events and quest to rediscover the routes to Cantha and Elona because now that Zaiten is defeated there should be a willingness from some in game entrepreneurs to seek out new markets.

Oh I remember that now. it did seem strange that the LA we got at launch was so much different than the one in that trailer unless, it really wasn’t false advertising, they must have planed the third coming of LA from the start.

Actually, now that I looked again it looks like Rata Sum was very different to back then. But anyhow, LA is the city being rebuilt and now we have the chance of making it really cool like this. Seaport and airport. Airships would make sense as a defensive mechanism to protect the city against future invasions or attempts to destroy it again – whether tidal wave, invasion force, dragon attack, etc.

If you look closer, you will find that all the cities were different (just look at the Rata Sum part in the same trailer). Those are just original concepts, that changed between trailer and launch.
