Lion's Arch- Over used
One thing : If they ever decide to spread out the content over Black Citadel, be aware. I know from my friend’s experience that this city is 2nd if not most laggy city in-game.

It’s the new Plane of Knowledge
GW1 hubs were non issue due to multiple districts, kinda like overflow but then there wasn’t horrible optimization or over the top particle effects in that game either.
Most everyone was in Kamadan otherwise known as Spamadan and LA or Kaineng City. Events were in each one.
Personally I think overflow should happen much, much sooner. Too many players = mass lag.

I disagree, overflow’s shouldn’t be an issue in any city. Even when not in overflow, you still see a ton of people (most of which are just dancing or trying to pester people with their new toy). However it’s mostly condensed and the majority of the city is rather empty.
Increasing the player cap per zone wouldn’t solve anything either. I’m no tech but considering the lag I get already, I imagine more = bad.
There are a couple things involved here but the main bit is, the other major cities don’t see the kind of livelihood that Lion’s Arch gets. Tixx DID visit each city for wintersday, but they really didn’t decorate much aside from lining up at the dungeon entrance. And that was also one time. There needs to be more celebrating throughout the cities, passive events that don’t need to be announced in some patch because people who are familiar with the lore will know it. Fire works during some anniversary of the charr and human treaty, snow sports/drinking fun (passed out in the streets kinda fun) for the norn’s surviving another year after being driven out by Jormag, things like that. Each city should have more life to it than an occasional visit from a patch. The grove can celebrate spring’s official arrival, Asuran’s can celebrate their hive of skritt, idk what they do. The whole point is Lion’s arch isn’t the only city, and it certainly isn’t the center of the lore but it feels like this living story is shoulder buddies with it all too much.
On a side note, I hope the living story gets more tied into each other as well as the past/current events. It seems like the living story is just short stories at this point that really don’t leave a true impact. F&F → Secrets of southsun was probably the best segment so far, because at least they tied in well and left no questions unanswered. The rest (of course excluding Halloween /wintersday) don’t seem related all too much aside from it’s relation to Lion’s arch.
break. I feel like they should be back by now..”
The Grove is probably the most beautiful city in the game for me. My mouth literally hanged open for a few seconds the first time I sat foot in there, it just has this amazing sense of tranquility and calmness which is perfectly complimented by the BGM. Too bad a lot of players will never see that city unless they want map comp.
I’m actually hoping that whenever the deep sea dragon awakes, we’ll have a repeat of the Battle of Claw island but with the dragon winning in the end and sinking LA into the ocean.
I’ve visited the grove once….I was overwhelmed with particles and lag.
I tried finding my way to get to the crafting stations…ended up searching for half an hour between the multiple levels of the tree and never found it. It’s pretty, sure, but convenient? Heck no from me.
Long story short, the grove is a no-no for me. It provides plenty of lag and confusion on this multi-level tree without an influx of players
I also used to go to Hoelbrak because it was my favorite R&R place but then I realized I was wasting silver WP’ing. So then I remembered that I could go to the Heart of the Mists and go to LA from there, free of cost. (my primary reason why I got to LA for r&r now, despite the long load time)

The grove is awesome and i’d love to use it – but its a freaking maze. And la has the only mystic forge. Which is understandable but irks me nonetheless.
I agree with the OP. Other cities should have the same stuff in Lion’s Arch like: Mystic Forge, portals to the Mists, and should also celebrate Halloween & Wintersday, etc. We should more reasons to come back often to our home cities.
