I will not deny it. This patch is awesome! when I heard there was going to be a surprise they really mean it! But I have one crucial question. I saw Kiel and Magnus relaxing on the Captain’s Council round table. Ok I guess they deserve it. But where in the world are Hero-Tron and Evon Gnashblade? I looked all over the city for them. I was kinda hoping to see Hero-Tron assign jobs to citizens and Evon trying to convince a small crowd that Kiel is unfitting as a leader or blackmailing the poor golem. I had some event ideas like “defend Hero-Tron from Skritt” as the golem looks for idle citizens, very similar to wintersday, or “donate boulders so Magnus can have supplies” but for what we got today I enjoyed it. I really hope the right names are given in the survey player can do to shape the city before its finished. Phoenix’s Roost for the light house will be a good way to show support for Cantha. I hope its not something stupid as Beacon Point— as trolls are saying now it will be named.

I voted for Phoenix because it is the symbol of rebirth. I care not a whit for Cantha.

Every lionguard should have his own box to hide against rain and sun, with space just suited for one standing person – so thiefes won’t knock back them anymore from behind.

I voted for pheonix if I remeber, cuz its pheonix.

Really love the new sound effects in the sewers in LA. Running water, dripping walls and the sound of rats makes for a much more immersive experience there.

I dunno how possible this is for devs to implement, but I think player should be able to help in the construction. Like going out and adventuring to get materials which they can give to build masters to fill construction bars or something.

Just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean it’s stupid.

I voted for Beacon Point because it reminds me of Beacon’s Perch from GW1. I don’t care about Cantha. Opinions, man, opinions.

I liked both phoenix, and beacon. But I chose beacon cause I felt like it fit better with lions arch and pirates etc. so old school nostalgia towards the town.

Well. About the pirate thing… It looks like there won’t be anything even remotely pirate-related about this new LA. The concept art shows us some kind of marble pyramids / royal gardens… I do not like the new style at all, from what I’m seeing right now. I’d love some of the soul of the old city to be preserved. Shinier does not mean better.

Does the lighting look different in this patch? (everywhere not just LA)
or am i imagining things?

I like the Phoenix because it has been destroyed twice now and not because of that phoenix pet on Cantha.

Beacon Point is a really good one too. I hope this one wins.

Haven’t logged in but…I guess they don’t have good options like…I dunno…arches and lions? That would be sweet. Columns, arches, walkways, lantern stands, window panes…everything just lions!
