Was thinking yesterday….
What if Lions Arch (and possibly the racial/major cities as well….?) spanned across all servers, and were split into districts (like in GW1)? Meaning if I enter LA district 1, it should be full of people from all servers. Districts, once they hit a cap, then create another district (i.e. districts 2, 3, 4, and so on until the last district is below the cap).
I’m currently in Sea of Sorrows; anytime I travel to LA, I’m lucky to see more than a handful of people at a time, and I’ve tried logging at different times throughout the day/week – no luck. As far as a I can tell, “major” cities are almost always nearly empty.
If the major cities were instead district-based and cross-server, then no matter which server you’re in, they would always feel full and alive (assuming you join one of the first districts). One thing I miss most from GW1 is being able to just hang out in a town and be a part of the community; when the major cities are empty (save a handful of AFK players), it really takes away from the “MMO” part of the game.
Just thought I would throw the idea out here and get some feedback…any reasons this wouldn’t be a good idea?
*Note: I just guested Blackgate, and LA is way more populated than I’ve ever seen LA in my home server. Looks like I’ll end up having to pay to switch servers so that the main towns have people in them
